Chita Bodmer, Executive Director, Maryborough Neighbourhood Centre, arrived in Australia from the Pilippines and worked in Rockhampton organising multicultural groups and large festive events. Chita is a winner of numerous state awards for community work. Chita's determination and success with community engagement is legendary.Chita is a tireless advocate for providing new settlers with evey opportunity to embrace the Australian culture whilst celebrating the best of their home country culture and sharing it with fellow Australians. Chita co-ordinates the Asian Women's Association and is a member of the Advisory Senate for the Fraser Coast Cultural Festival.
Award for: Generous community volunteering spirit with a keen focus on promoting understanding between diverse cultures and contributing to building a vibrant community spirit.
