26. Karen Cordwell

Karen Cordwell has lived in Geeveston her whole life and is very proud of her community. During this time she has been part of many organisations and community groups. Firstly she started as a  voluntary First Aid Cadet for St Johns Ambulance while still completing High School. Then a little later in life completed her Bronze Medallion and Coaching Certificate  and join the Committee of Geeveston Swimming Club to help local children learn to swim. She was quoted saying, "To be able to teach children a skill that they will have for the rest of their life is very rewarding."

Karen also joined the local business group to help our town to continue to grow as we have seen good times and bad.

Karen always plays a part in local Festivals and Markets as well as the Annual Geeveston  Xmas Parade. She is on the committee for the Forest Festival an annual event that displays and demonstrates all the timber industry has to offer. All profits go back to the community to various organisations and those community groups that help out on the day. Her newest venture is being part of the management team out at Tahune Forest Airwalk which she is truly passionate about. But if and when the Geeveston Community needs her she is always there with a friendly smile.
