61. Geoff Davis
Geoff is the founding father of Garnduwa Amboorny Wirnan, an independent organisation which he started in Broome in 1991, and brought to Fitzroy Crossing in 1995. He is married to Marmingee, an elder of the community.
Geoff is relentless in his pursuit of harmony and progress in the community and works tirelessly, often at his own expense, to integrate more recreational and cultural activities into the lives of the youth of the region. Even though Garnduwa has grown to encompass many other regions, Geoff – a top line Australian Rules football coach – still plays a pivotal role in organising the local football competition, and has been approached by the Government to coordinate football programs for the progress of junior football throughout the State.
