Bob Randall is well known as one of the most influential Aboriginal elders in this country. A member of the Stolen Generation, Bob is living an extraordinary and astonishing life, having lived in many parts of Australia from the remotest desert to the capital cities, and pursuing many careers, professions and pastimes, from carpenter to stockman, crocodile hunter, university lecturer, social worker, film maker, story teller and renowned country music singer-songwriter.

You could be excused for thinking Bob is many different people. But through these many faces, aspects and personalities there is one soul shining, the soul of a lover: a lover of people, a lover of the Creator and the creation, a lover of nature, a lover of country, a lover of the heart of all.

Though life has dealt Bob excruciating sorrow, he has responded with a fathomless fount of wisdom, love and genuine compassion for all. Bob receives the Torch-Bearer Award as a shining triumph of goodness.
