37. Timisha Ward
Timisha Ward is a student of Eastern Fleurieu School in Year 11. She has made a huge impact on the school and her community through her volunteer work and going to the UN Youth Summit. Timisha has been part of the Southern Fleurieu Youth Advisory Committee (SF YAC) for 2 years, volounteering her voice to council on youth and community issues that effect young people in our district.
The YAC organises youth-based events in the local community and strongly supports community events and initiatives. Events/programs that Timisha has been instrumental in have been: the Yes Youth Forum, Youth Art Exhibition, Thunder in the Rotunda, Show us your Shorts film festival and attending and presenting at all YAC meetings and many council meetings.
Timisha's involvment in the Youth Theatre project wet paint, a YAC and council youth theatre initative, has displayed her attributes as a great team player and also her acting skills!
Timisha has been a student at Barefoot and Brilliant Dance classes and was recently a beautiful Cinderella in the Strathalbyn young players group production 'Cinderella and the Designer Football Boots'.
Timisha has initiative and enthusism for politics and community issues which has lead her to the UN youth conference in canberra where her mock policy was adopted and discussed by young people from all over the world. Last year Timisha was awarded Young Australian Citizen of the Year for the Goolwa area.
Timisha is a model student at school, (taking on yr 12 subjects whilst in year 11) is passionate about every endeavour she attempts, has a great community spirit and is exceptionally kind to anyone who crosses her path.
