62. Ronnie Jimbidie
July 16
Ronnie Jimbidie who is also fondly known as the 'Bush Tucker Man' runs the Mimbi Caves Tourist Precinct.
Ronnie specialises in guiding visitors through the myriad of magnificent limestone caves in the region. Ronnie is also keeping alive many of the ancient botanical arts of his people and has an encyclopedic knowledge of the many medicinal properties found in the native plants.
In addition to operating the tourist facility at Mimbi Caves, Ronnie and his family also operate an extensive cattle station and provide interpreting services between the local community and Western Australian Government.
If that were not enough, he is also a very accomplished singer / songwriter, having recently performed his own compositions at the Tamworth Music Festival, Australia's home of country music.
Ronnie well deserves of the World Harmony Run Torch-Bearer Award as an individual who actively and enthusiastically bridging the gap between the ancient and modern cultures within Australia.
