Australia 25 March: Camperdown - Geelong
River Glen Holiday Park owners pictured here with the World Harmony Run Team were so inspired by Sri Chinmoy’s dedication to peace, they named a street within their park after him in 2007. A great place to stay in Geelong.
Here we are guests at the Sri Chinmoy 6, 12 and 18km Barwon River Race in Geelong. Race Director Kishore Cunningham introduced the World Harmony Run to the competitors during the race briefing.
At the start line of the race the runners had a traditional moment of silence to prepare themselves for the journey ahead. We had a World Harmony Run Team in the event and as we ran we passed the Torch to our fellow competitors inviting them to ‘take a step for peace’. The response was fantastic and we felt tremendous support from the three hundred plus entrants.
Great view from the pusher.
We ran with the Torch on the 6km loop of the Sri Chinmoy Barwon River Race. At this point we were sprinting to catch competitors ahead of us to invite them to hold the Torch.
