USA 17 May: Iola, KS - Nowata, OK

Happy Birthday to our Belarusian brother Dzmitry!

We entered into the new state of Oklahoma today...

Matthias, from Germany, is pure entertainment!

Another day of HOT running. We are getting plenty of vitamin D out here...

Welcome respite. Between running our miles and a ceremony we had an hour to recover. Pulling into a grassy shady spot we unexpectedly came across some new friends:

First Frankie came for some affection...

Then the sweetest kid came running out of her grandparent's house to catch butterflies. We all fell in love with Macauley who thought that the World Harmony Run was the coolest thing ever!

So she ran insde to get Grandma who happened to have seen us running down the highway earlier in the day. These 'chance' encounters with locals are pure treasure.

Time for the Ceremony at the Coffeyville Boys & Girls' Club

Thanks to Griffin Walker for welcoming us and leading the run with the torch.

These beautiful children were both exuberant and soulful.

We were enchanted by one boy who we spotted sincerely meditating at different stages throughout the ceremony.

BYE!!

Thanks to Team Pizza for supplying scrumptious pizza.

Ahhh, peace. Our campsite at Oologah was bliss. In a warm and serene environment we swam...

had dinner...

and celebrated Dima's birthday by the campfire with ice-cream cake and the classic American smores.
