Much gratitude to Devil's Backbone Park for supplying our complimentary campsite last night.

As the men's team had an early start with running the women's team stayed a while and soaked in the amazing Mississippi River energy.

The town of Chester was the memorable feature of the day...

The first stop was Subway who kindly offered us delicious subs on the house.

Thanks again Subway!

Arpan displaying his car wash skill.

Behind the scenes in the World Harmony Run team...Today our team captain, Salil, proposed a car cleaning competition at the midday vehicle transition. This kind of classic tactic to motivate the crew is always a motivator, especially when rewards are at stake.

Team A had previously called themselves 'The Under-Estimated'. Luckily we have no expectation of them because they completely forgot about the competition. Their hearts' are in the right place.

Team B did a thorough job inside and out winning the van category hands down.

Salil seems pleased with the standard of the RV which is in a category of its own.

So Team got pretty excited about their win. Even though there was no competitor, we sincerely took on the task.

We won a Cake Pop each!

The Cake Pops came from 'Pinky's Sugarland'.

Diana and Ted Mueller own this adorable shop. This is their own description of Cake Pops on their website: "These are "oh my gosh, roll your eyes, heaven on a stick" scrumptious candy coated cake truffles. The pops start out as cake and then wonderful things like marshmallow creme, pudding mixes, syrups, nuts, frostings, candies, etc. are added. The mixture is then rolled up into balls or cookie cutter shapes, placed on a sucker stick, and dipped in a melted candy coating! Yummy!" We were most impressed with this unique creation which come in over 50 varieties.

After an impromptu ceremony of sorts Diana offered us more free treats! Turns out she is the artist of the amazing murals found all over Chester. Notice her shirt, she has a true love for flamingoes and paints a little one in each of her works of art.

Chester's main pride is that the creator of Popeye, Elzie Segar, lived here. Many of the Popeye characters are based on people he knew in town. There are seven statues dedicated to these characters throughout Chester. 'Spinach Can Collectibles' is the incredible Popeye Museum.

Debbie Brooks and her husband moved from Memphis to open up the Museum-Shop in 1994 and have never looked back. They just love Popeye...who doesn't!?

After the long stop in Chester Team C took a while to get warmed up but once we did we enjoyed the lucious landscape and enthusiastic encouragement of the passers by.

Heading into the peaceful sanctuary of the Shrine Hotel, at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, one of the largest outdoor Shrines in North America. They kindly offered 2 nights free of charge as tomorrow we will spend the day in nearby St Louis for local events.

Many devotional statues are placed throughout the 200 acres of natural beauty that surrounds the hotel.
