USA 28 April: Savannah, GA - Darien, GA

This morning the Saturday schedule permitted us to relax a little at the Savannah South KOA campground. We are fortunate to stay in quite a few grand gratis hotels during our travels yet the simplicity and serenity of camping reconnects us with Mother Earth beyond compare (especially when the weather is calm!)...

Refueling...

The intense heat made the day pretty challenging for running.

A sunny ceremony at the Richmond Hills T-Ball competition where 6 teams of kids converged.

Jana, from Czech Republic, shares some important words.

A group home run with the torch.

Thanks for your enthusiastic participation!

We found a most charming church known locally as "The Smallest Church in America" enroute Coastal Highway 17, Georgia. It was built in 1949 by a rural grocer named Agnes Harper who said "it's not the dimensions of the church, it's the extent of the faith". The tiny 10x15 foot non-denominational sanctuary is unlocked 24 hours for solace to all.

An insight of the daily swapping of the vehicles. We use the vans as support for the runners and the RV for cooking to feed the whole team.

Atulya, from San Diego, ran a noteworthy 20 miles today...

...and we were thrilled to see Teekhnata, his wife, do a couple of miles as she recovers from injury. We have kept her very busy though. With driving, cooking, photography and countless other jobs there is plenty to do out here on the road.

THANK YOU to Jean Henderson for kindly hosting the whole team for dinner and the girl's team to sleep at her lovely home in Saint Simons Island. Her generousity was unforgettable!

"We can have hamony
If we have a deep reverence
For Mother Nature"
