In Feltre we began our journey today at the elementary school “Boscariz,” and what a reception we got! The children cheered and clapped as we entered into the school premises.

A Feltre abbiamo iniziato il nostro viaggio quotidiano nella scuola elementare "Boscariz", e che accoglienza abbiamo ricevuto! I bambini gridavano ed applaudivano mentre entravamo nella scuola premessa.

They had a wonderful surprise for us, for they had prepared two beautiful songs: one greeting song in 5 different languages and a really stunning performance of an Italian song about friendship, love, and togetherness. They were all excellent singers. Then we went running with them on the schoolyard and made them all real World Harmony Builders. The exuberant Italian spirit reigned throughout!

Avevano una bellissima sorpresa per noi, avevano preparato due stupendi canti:un canto di saluto in 5 diverse lingue e una veramente assordante performance di un canto italiano sull'amicizia, amore e sullo stare insieme. Erano tutti eccelenti cantanti. Quindi siamo andati a correre con loro nel cortile della scuola e reso loro relamente i costruttori dell'Armonia nel Mondo. L'esuberante spirito italiano ha regnato ovunque!

Soon we were on our way again, running along the river Brenta towards our next meeting place in Campese di Bassano. There we were joined by runners from as many as six different running clubs from all around the area. Together we ran to Bassano: a true Italian jewel of a town along the Brenta.

Presto ci siamo rimessi in marcia, correndo lungo il fiume Brenta verso il prossimo punto di incontro a Campese di Bassano. Là siamo stati raggiunti dai corridori di qualcosa come sei diferenti club provenienti da tutta l'area circostante. Insieme abbiamo corso fino a Bassano: un vero gioiello italiano di città lungo il Brenta.

On the historical bridge we met with the city’s representative of sports who presented us with a special honorary medallion from the community. We all posed for a group picture and then went into the adjacent café for cappuccino and fruit juice. The Italians are a truly hospitable people and will not allow you to leave them hungry, thirsty, or empty-handed. This easy-going, sweet, and friendly atmosphere pervades all the Italian villages we pass through.

Sul ponte storico ci siamo incontrati con il rappresentante dello sport della città che ci ha presentati con una speciale medaglia d'onore da parte della comunità. Abbiamo posato tutti per una foto di gruppo e quindi siamo andati nel caffè adiacente per un cappucino o del succo di frutta. Gli italiani sono persone veramente ospitali e non ci permetteranno di lasciarli affamati, assetati o a mani vuote. Questa accomodante, dolce e amichevole atmosfera pervade tutti i villaggi italiani attraverso cui noi passiamo.

The Brenta goaded us onwards through the evergreen countryside until we arrived some 34 kilometres later in Piazzola sul Brenta. There the Mayor and a big group of children awaited us on the sun-bathed town square.

Il Brenta ci ha spronati attraverso le campagne sempreverdi finchè siamo arrivati 34 km più tardi in Piazzola sul Brenta. Là il sindaco ed un grande gruppo di bambini ci ha aspettati sulla piazza principale bagnata dal sole.

We gave the Mayor a World Harmony Run T-shirt and joked with him that he had to run at least 20 metres with us to prove himself worthy of it. He readily agreed. Upon leaving, a group of about six runners from the local running club accompanied us on the way to Padova - our final destination of the day.

Abbiamo dato al sindaco una maglietta della WHR e abbiamo scherzato con lui dicendo che doveva correre almeno 20 metri con noi per provare a se stesso di esserne degno. E' stato immediatamente d'accordo. Alla partenza, un gruppo di circa sei runners del club di corsa locale ci ha accompagnati sulla strada per Padova la nostra destinazione finale della giornata.

According to ancient legend, Padova was founded by the Greek hero Aeneas when he crossed the Adriatic Sea on his way home from Troy. In those days Padova was still a coastal town; now it is lying more inland.

Secondo un' antica leggenda, Padova è stata fondata dall'eroe greco Enea quando ha attraversato il mare Adriatico sulla strada di casa da Troia. In quei giorni Padova era ancora una città costiera; ora giace più sull'entroterra.

In Padova we had a reception with a city representative in the beautiful and ancient Town Hall. Padova also houses the second largest City Square in Europe, after Moscow’s Red Square. It was here that we parked our team vans in the evening and headed towards an outside restaurant terrace in the city’s center, to enjoy pasti, antipasti, and gelati, all provided by the generous City Council of Padova.

A Padova ci siamo incontrati con un rappresentante della città nella bellissima ed antica Hall della città. Padova ospita anche la seconda più larga piazza della città in Europa, dopo la piazza rossa di Mosca. Qui abbiamo parcheggiato i furgoni del nostro team per la sera e ci siamo diretti verso un ristorante con terrazza nel centro della città per gustare pasta, antipasti e gelati, tutto fornito dal generoso Consiglio della città di Padova.
