Another gorgeous day in Iceland! The weather gods have been blessing us for days.

Enn einn bjartur dagur á Íslandi. Veðurguðirnir hafa brost sínu blíðasta.

Boijayanti is looking sleek and fit after running many kilometers in Iceland.

Boijayanti er komin í gott hlaupaform eftir alla kílómetrana sem hún hefur lagt að baki á Íslandi.

Snæfellsjökull Glacier. Our destination....the peak!

Snæfellsjökull. Við stefnum á...toppinn!

Unfortunately, the womens' team had nonstop car troubles today and were unable to meet us for the ascent of the glacier.

Því miður átti bifreið kvennaliðs okkar í erfiðleikum með að komast upp á jökulhálsinn og þær gátu því ekki farið með okkur á tindinn.

Alex, from Belgium was incredibly compassionate as he drove Boijayanti a total of 80K to buy motor oil. The kindness of the people we meet on the road is heart-warming.

Alex frá Belgíu sýndi ótrúlega hjartagæsku og keyrði Boijayanti 80 kílómetra til að kaupa vélaolíu. Gæskan í fólkinu sem við hittum á veginum snertir okkur djúpt.

Jules Verne used the Snæfellsjökull Glacier as the entry into the center of the Earth in his classic novel.

Snæfellsjökull var notaður sem inngangurinn í miðju Jarðar í hinni frægu skáldsögu Jules Verne.

This giant snow mobile will take us up as close as possible to the peak.

Þessi snjótroðari fór með okkur eins nálægt tindinum og hægt var.

It feels a little strange to be the ones who are driving past the people on foot. Strange but good.

Það er undarleg tilfinning að vera komin í hlutverk þeirra sem keyra og horfa á aðra ferðast á fæti. Undarleg tilfinning en ekki slæm.

We aren't going to the center of the Earth. We're going to the top of the world!

Við erum annars ekki á leiðinni að miðju Jarðar, heldur hátindi heimsins!

The snow mobile got us to the top of this hill and then we climbed the peak to the left on foot.

Snjótroðarinn fór með okkur að toppi þessarar hæðar og fórum við á fæti upp á tindinn til vinstri.

Amazing blue skies! It could not be a more perfect day. Thanks so much to the Snjófell snow mobile for taking us up and being so patient as we took extra time at the top.

Heiðskírt, gæti ekki verið betra. Kærar þakkir Oddur og Snjófell fyrir að fara með okkur upp á toppinn.

Like lemmings, we follow each other up this crazy climb, wondering the whole way....how will we get back down?

Við förum upp í halarófa, en spurningin sem allir velta fyrir sér...komumst við niður?

Hands and feet were needed for this scramble. The lucky people had on gloves.

Hér þurfti að nota bæði hendur og fætur. Hinir heppnu komu með hanska.

Yes....it really is this steep!

We goofed around a bit with photos and fun and then had a minute of silence.

Við stilltum okkur upp fyrir myndir og skemmtanir og áttum síðan þögla friðarstund.

Uh oh....now it's time to get back down. It's easier said than done.

Ó, ó, nú þurfum við að fara niður. Auðveldara sagt en gert.

Most of us ended up sliding down which was great fun. The unfortunate part was the ice that ended up in your pants!

Flestir ákváðu að láta sig renna niður. Gallinn var að þá fylltust fötin af ís.

We meet new friends wherever we go.

Hvert sem við förum hittum við nýja vini.

Back down again. It was a wonderful trip that we will aways remember.

Komin niður. Þetta var stórkostleg ferð sem mun geymast í minni okkar um alla ævi.

Many of us got the chance to continue sight-seeing in this beautiful little town by the sea called Arnarstapi.

Margir héldu áfram að skoða sig um í Arnarstapa.

From the glacier to the seaside in mere minutes. Iceland is truly a wonder!

Frá jöklinum að sjávarsíðuna á nokkrum mínútum. Ísland er algjört undur!

From there, we drove a short way to a new marvel. The singing cave - was another stunning feat of nature.

Þaðan var stutt keyrsla að næsta náttúrundri: sönghellinum.

Sightseeing is over and now it's back to the road to finish up the kilometers for the day.

Skoðunarferðum lokið og nú þarf að ljúka við að hlaupa kílómetra dagsins.

Special thanks to the womens' team today as they kept their composure and peace through not one, but two, car breakdowns. If fact, they were even smiling at the end of the day!

Kvennaliðið á þakkir skildar fyrir að halda stillingu og friði þrátt fyrir öll bifreiðavandamálin sem á þeim dundu. Í raun voru þær brosandi í lok dagsins.

At our final destination for the evening, Borgarnes, we enjoyed a delicious meal and an educational show about the original settlement of Iceland at landnámssetrið. 

Our heartwarm gratitude to Áslaug Þorvaldsdóttir for arranging our evening and inviting us to the show and thank to the staff at landnámssetrið, Elsa, Vigdís, Guðmundur karl, Sindri and Davíð for a great meal.

Síðasti áfangastaður okkar í dag var Borgarnes, en þar fengum við ljúffenga máltíð og fræðandi sýningu um fyrstu landnema Íslands.

Hjartans þakkir til Áslaugar Þorvaldsdóttur fyrir að skupuleggja kvöldmatinn og sýninguna fyrir okkur og við þökkum starfsfólki landnámsseturins þeim Elsu, Vigdísi, Guðmundi karli, Sindra, og Davíð kærlega fyrir frábæran mat.
