There is a school-wide project in which each class represents a team competing in the World Cup.

Als Schulprojekt repräsentierte jede Klasse eine Fussballmannschaft der Weltmeisterschaft.

... a great final group picture. It was quite a sight to see so many different countries’ flags being displayed at the school. This fit perfectly with the theme of the World Harmony Run, appreciation of cultural diversity and the 2010 International Year for the Rapprochement of Cultures.

... ein abschließendes Gruppenfoto. Es war ein schöner Anblick die Fahnen so vieler verschiedener Länder an der Schule zu sehen. Das passte perfekt zur Thematik des World Harmony Run, die Wertschätzung kultureller Vielfalt und des Internationalen Jahres der Annäherung der Kulturen im Jahr 2010.

The kids at Georg Primary School and the Patrokli-School were very bright and they easily guessed which countries we were from.

Die Kinder der Georg Grundschule und der Patrokli-Schule waren sehr klever - ganz leicht konnten sie alle unsere Nationalitäten erraten...

Our honorary clown Vlado was entertaining the kids, as well as us.

The two schools received certificates of appreciation for really cultivating harmony in their community.

The Sport Representative of the city of Unna told us a little about the history and presented us with the city flag. The group picture took place in front of a "peace stone"...Uwe Hasche of the press office of the city of Unna wrote a nice article about the reception at the town hall.

Der Repräsentant der Stadt Unna überreichte uns als Gastgeschenk die Flagge der Stadt. Das Gruppenbild wurde vor dem "Friedensstein" aufgenommen... Uwe Hasche von der Pressestelle der Stadt Unna schrieb einen schönen Artikel über den Empfang am Rathaus.

We ran to a beautiful rose garden in Dortmund, the "Deutsches Rosarium im Westfalenpark".

Wir erreichten den wunderschönen Rosengarten der Stadt Dortmund, das deutsche Rosarium im Westfalenpark.

The landscape was beautifully populated with lotus ponds and more than 2,600 different types of rose!

Wunderschöne Seerosenteiche und über 2600 verschiedene Rosenarten!

Mrs. Kulozik from the park management received the torch on behalf of the City of Dortmund.

Parkleiterin Frau Kulozik nahm die Fackel für die Stadt Dortmund entgegen.

We prepared to plant the "Sri Chinmoy Rose," which is a hybrid created in 2004 and named after the founder of the World Harmony Run, Sri Chinmoy.

Die "Sri Chinmoy Rose" ist eine Züchtung aus dem Jahre 2004 und benannt nach dem Begründer des World Harmony Run, Sri Chinmoy.

Barbara Nasarian-Eckstein from the Friends of the Rose Gardens Dortmund, offered us some profound words of wisdom...
