USA 5 January: Honolulu
Our final event in Hawaii began at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel.
We headed off to Iolani School, about 2 miles away.
It was a lovely run.
As many of the team were leaving the next day we were happy to run through the scenic streets of Honolulu.
Gannika from Austria with Peter Greenhill of Iolani school and Iolani Peace Institute met while hiking the Camino de Santiago - it was this connection which resulted in us visiting.
Salil introduced the philosophy of the Run to students and teachers.
Various team members invited the students to guess their country or state of origin.
California.
Luxembourg.
Russia.
Serbia.
Brazil.
Uzbekistan.
Mongolia.
Ireland.
Then we passed the torch.
A group photo.
Holding the torch together.
Then we headed around the track.
Iolani Alumni Levani, who is currently serving as Executive Director of Ananda Foundation, showed up to lend her support.
Some of the younger students joined in.
Sharing the torch.
At the end of a great day we got to play Ultimate with some of the students.
