23. Nik Hurring
October 3
Nik with the support of other individuals, and groups such as Forest and Bird and the Department Of Conservation, has been involved in managing the rehabilitation of injured Kereru (an endangered Native New Zealand wood pigeon) from the Dunedin area and further afield for many years on a voluntary basis, with around 50 birds passing through her care in a purpose-built aviary every year before being released into the wild.
