9. Olivia Burne
September 20
A 16 year-old Palmerston North Girls High School pupil, Olivia is an up and coming athlete, a bright spark with a very bright future.
Her specialty is the 3000m and also competes in 1500m and cross-country. Earlier in the year, she was part of a New Zealand Secondary School Athletics team who won gold in Czech Republic.
Olivia has competed in many running events and has done extremely well, and she has high hopes for the NZ Secondary School Athletics in December this year.
Nominated by Palmerston North Rotary Club member Stuart Schwartz, as an inspirational ambassador for the youth of today, he felt that Olivia would be a perfect recipient for the Torch-Bearer Award.
Barry Magee is Olivia’s coach, a very inspiring runner and athlete himself, and supports and encourages her in every way to be the best she can be.
We wish you all the best for your future and our hope is to see you compete in the next Olympic Games!
Congratulations and thank you for your enthusiastic participation in the World Harmony Run.
