日本コース最終日を迎え、メンバーは嬉しさ半分、さびしさ半分。長崎まで来られたのは嬉しいけれど、今日で日本のランが終わってしまうと思うとちょっと寂しい。
Today was both a happy and sad day. We were happy to be in Nagasaki but sad that this was the last day of our journey in Japan.
長崎平和公園には平和への願いをこめた折鶴が世界中から送られてくる。

Ｂチームは長崎市で小学校を2校訪れる。一校目は桜町小学校。運動場で待っていてくれた元気な５，６年生と友だちになるシアトル出身のプランローバ。

生徒代表で歓迎の挨拶をしてくれました。ちゃんと日本語と英語バイリンガルでした！すばらしい。

シベリアはトムスク市のテレビ局カメラマン、スタースはドキュメンタリーを作るべく、いつもビデオ係。市役所がすぐ隣ということもあり、長崎市教育委員会から様子を見に来てくださった髙木主査さんと握手。髙木さんと安部係長さんには、市内の学校訪問について本当にお世話になりました。素敵な笑顔で応援して下さり、感激です。
Our video man, Stas from Siberia, met with Mr. Takaki, one of the Nagasaki Education officials. He and Mr. Abe, the section chief in charge of the School Education of the City's Educational Board, have been extremely helpful and organized all the elementary school visits in Nagasaki City for us.
2校目の訪問先へ急ぐランナーたち。

路面電車の走る長崎市内の様子。海あり山あり、異国情緒あり歴史あり、長崎の雰囲気は独特です。なんだか町全体がハーモニーランを歓迎してくれている感じです。
2校目の訪問先、西坂小学校は長崎２６聖人像からさらに坂を上がったところにあります。英語の授業を使ってランナー一行を迎えてくださいました。英語を勉強しているだけあって、進行役のアパグハのいうことを一生懸命理解して英語で答えようとしてくれました。ありがとう！
Nishizaka Elementary School gave us a warm welcome. Students in this school learn English, which is a practice still rather rare in Japanese public elementary schools at the time of this Run. They were very eager to use English with us!

校長先生に全員のサインが入った感謝状とランの提唱者シュリ・チンモイ作の絵を贈呈します。
On behalf of the team, Harashita presented Certificate of Appreciation with eveyone's signature and country of origin. A painting by the founder Sri Chinmoy was also offered as a gift.
長崎ではセレモニーが二回行われました。一回目は市役所前です。市民ランナーさんも一緒に会場に向かいます。
セレモニーの模様は長崎新聞、読売新聞で紹介されました。
We had two ceremonies in Nagasaki. The first one was in front of the City Hall, and the runners, along with citizen runners, made their way to the first ceremony.
Articles about our ceremonies appeared in Nagasaki and Yomiuri Newspapers.
長崎の市民ランナーさん達は、フルマラソン3時間切る方たちも多くいるグループ。メンバーは一緒に走りながらフォームなど見習わせていただきました。
Some members from the citizens' running clubs have run a full marathon under 3 hours. A member from our Harmony Run team commented she tried to learn how to run with a better posture from them.
長崎市役所でセレモニー。智多正信副市長様が出席してくださる。この副市長さんは１９８７年ワールドハーモニーランがピースランで始まった年にサポートして一緒に走ってくださった方である。
Deputy Mayor of Nagasaki City Mr. Masanobu Chita came to support the Run and held the torch. Being a runner himself, he was actually one of the citizen runners who supported the first World Harmony Run in 1987.
いい笑顔である。こんな副市長さんを持つ長崎はいい感じがする。本部実行委員長のシャリルと。

勤務時間中にもかかわらず、教育委員会、こども部、福祉保健部などから市役所の職員の方が多数見に来てくださる。とても温かく迎えていただいた感覚でした。
Even though the ceremony took place during the office hours, a number of staff from the City Hall, including ones from the Educational Board, Children's Department, and Senior Citizen's Health Office kindly attended the ceremony and gave us a warm welcome.
飛び入り参加でスピーチをしてくださった長崎市議会の中田剛副議長様。どうもありがとうございました。
Unexpectedly but joyfully we enjoyed the presence of Vice Chairman of the Municipal Council Mr. Tsuyoshi Nakata.

平和への願いをこめて、満面の笑顔でトーチを持って下さる副市長様。
With his wish for peace, the smiling Deputy Mayor held the torch high.
長崎の市民ランナーさんはいつもハーモニー・ランを温かく力強く迎えてくれます。今回は雲仙市から長崎市のコースを、諫早ジョギングクラブ、長崎桜町ジョギングクラブ、長崎チャレンジマラソンクラブ、長崎ジョギングクラブ、長崎チームルーナ、長崎走ろう会の６つのランニングクラブから計25名のランナーさんがいらしてくださり、リレーしてくださいました。持参の伴走車に手づくりのハーモニー・ランのロゴと経由地も貼って下さいました。本当にどうもありがとうございます！実は副市長様もランニングのお仲間だそうです。
Citizen runners of Nagasaki have always been supportive of the Harmony Run in a powerful way. This year in particular, 25 representative runners from 6 running clubs: Isahaya Jogging Club, Nagasaki Sakura-machi Jogging Club, Nagasaki Challenge Marathon Club, Nagasaki Jogging Club, Nagaski Team Luna, and Nagasaki Hashirou-kai relayed the entire route after we reached Nagasaki Prefecture. Their van displayed all the country names that the Asia Run will be visiting. In fact, the Deputy Mayor also practices running with them.

市役所でのセレモニーを終えると、約4㎞の道を走って平和公園へ向かいます。そして公園の入り口から、長崎無事到着と、韓国釜山にむけての出発を願って、 国旗とトーチで入場します。
After the ceremony at the City Hall, the runners headed towards our final destination Peace Park, which is 4km away. The runners entered the park with all the national flags the Asia Run will be visiting. We were filled with joy for safely arriving at Nagasaki, and with anticipation for the upcoming run in Korea.
日本ランの最後を飾るセレモニーは平和祈念像の前で行われました。本部実行委員長のあいさつです。
The last ceremony of the Japan Route was held in front of the Statue of Peace.
長崎県知事公室国際課の山田健課長様より、長崎県知事様からのメッセージをいただきます。
Director of International Affairs Division, Nagasaki Prefectural Government, Mr. Ken Yamada read a message from the Governor of Nagasaki.
ランナーを激励して、ファンの間では「伝説の和太鼓奏者」と評される長崎在住ヤスコさん（ＺＡ龍馬Ryu~Maリーダー、元鬼太鼓座座長）が和太鼓のソロ演奏をして下さいました。日本のランの最後の締め、そしてユーラシア・ランのスタートとしての壮大な太鼓の音が響き渡りました。力強く、澄んでまっすぐな音には神聖ささえただよい、見ている者はみな魅了されました。ロシアのユーラは「涙が流れた」と身振り手振りでおしえてくれました。
We were very fortunate to have Yasuko (Leader of ZA Ryu-Ma, former leader of Ondekoza) as the performer at the final ceremony. She is one of the most famous taiko drummers in Japan, described by her fans as the 'legendary drummer'. The sound she created was so pure, powerful and even divine, all those present were completely intoxicated by it. Yura from Russia told me that he could not hold his tears streaming down as he listened to her performance.
ヤスコさんの皆に喜びと勇気を与える素晴らしい演奏、そして音楽を通して平和な世界を目指し世界各地で演奏を行ってきたことを称え、ワールドハーモニー・ランからトーチべアラー賞を授与しました。おめでとうございます。そしてどうもありがとうございます。
To honor Yasuko's inspiring and exquisite taiko performance and her ongoing effort to contribute to peacemaking through musical performances throughout the world, the Torch Bearer Award was offered to her.
そして最後に、「ナガサキ誓いの火」（長崎を最後の被爆地とする誓いの火）が維持会の方々からワールドハーモニー・ランに送られます。これは1983年にオリンピアの火がギリシャ政府から長崎市に贈られたもので、以来絶やさず維持会の方々が灯し続けて来られたものです。
Finally, we received Peace Flame of Nagasaki. This special flame was from Olympia, Greece, and was given by the government of Greece to Nagaski City as a gift in 1983. Since then, a citizen's group has maintained the flame, pledging to make Nagasaki the last victim of A-bombs.
広島の平和の灯から運んできた火と長崎の誓いの火が合灯されます。そして長崎県民の方々を代表して県国際課課長様より、アメリカの代表ランナーに手渡されました。
Peace Flame of Nagasaki and Hiroshima's Peace Flame that we had carried for the last 5 days were then put together into a new torch, held by the director of the international affairs division of Nagasaki Prefectural Government, who represents the citizens of Nagasaki Prefecture. The newly lit torch was then handed to our representative runner from the US.
3本のトーチを持って、韓国は釜山に向けて出発です！
With the 3 torches, the runners took their first steps to Busan, South Korea.
