Italy 20 June: San Marino - Arezzo

Waking up at an altitude of almost 800 metres, we started our day at the Ministry of Tourism in San Marino. A hearty meeting took place; we introduced our cause and then went on to the next reception, at a summer school.

Approximately 30 kids welcomed us at the school; they had made nice clipboards with drawings! The kids did very well in the country-guessing game and before we left, we had a dynamic run in the school yard.

Unfortunately, we had to run all the way downhill again, only to run up another mountain! A climb to more than 1000 metres from sea level brought us over the Appennini mountain range.

We reached the famous Italian province of Toscana (Tuscany) in the afternoon, with all its famous cities like Firenze, Siena and many more, as well as all the hidden pearls somewhere in the countless hills.

Olive trees, vineyards - the whole country seems to be a huge garden!

Finally we reached Arezzo, where the police brought us in for another exciting city run to the town hall, an old palazzo.

The mayor and the president of the city assembly welcomed us. The day ended with a short "VIP-run" and we then took a well-deserved rest after an extremely hot day.
