After a great nights sleep we left Lamezia Terme Scalo and continued to the old part of town where we had the chance to speak at two primary schools. The Primo circolo Primary School gathered 300 kids for our presentation.

Dopo una grande nottata di sonno abbiamo lasciato Lamezia Terme e continuato verso la parte vecchia della città, dove abbiamo avuto la possibilità di parlare in due scuole elementari. La scuola elementare Primo Circolo raccoglie 300 bambini per la nostra presentazione.

It was one of the most diverse schools we had spoken to in Italy. Teresa Beirlacqua, the Director of the School, made us feel at home and thanked us for taking the time to visit her school.

E' stata una delle varie scuole dove abbiamo parlato in Italiano. Teresa Bevilacqua, Direttore della scuola, ci ha fatto sentire a casa e ci ha ringraziato per la nostra visita.

At the Secondo Circolo Primary School we had another great ceremony with the director of the School, Dr. Vincenzo Carlo Cristiano. She commended our efforts in educating young children along our journey. The school visits are the most rewarding aspect of the run for most of the team. It gives us renewed inspiration to see the world's future leaders taking the time feel harmony in their own hearts and think about how they act towards their friends, family and their teachers.

Alla scuola elementare Secondo Circolo abbiamo avuto un'altra grande cerimonia con il direttore della scuola, Dr. Vincenzo Carlo Cristiano. Ha commentato come i nostri sforzi siano educativi per i giovani. La visita alla scuole è l'aspetto più appagante della corsa per la maggior parte del Team. Ci dona rinnovata ispirazione vedere i futuri leaders del mondo prendersi un pò di tempo per sentire l'armonia nei propri cuori e pensare a come si comportano con i propri amici, famigliari e insegnati.

All the children were ecstatic as they ran around the school gymnasium for two laps. We wish we had the time to run further with them but they had classes to attend.

Tutti i bambini sono stati estasiati quando hanno corso in torno alla palestra della scuola per due giri. Desideravamo di correre con loro più tardi ma avevano le loro lezioni ad attenderli.

With fond memories of the morning we left town to tackle some serious hills up to an elevation of 1000m. These 70km to the City of Cosenza were tough particularly since we had just run 150km the day before.

Abbiamo lasciato la città con ricordi molto teneri della mattinata per affrontare qualche seria collina fino ai 1000m. Questi 70km per la città di Cosenza sono stati particolarmente duri a causa dei 150km corsi il giorno prima.

We even passed some waterfalls on the way.

Lungo la strada abbiamo anche passato qualche cascata.

Ondrej, our team captain, is great runner and also very effective leader. We all appreciate his commitment to the success of the run and his concern for all of the team members.

Ondrej, il nostro capitano, è un grande runner e un leader molto efficente.

Noi tutti apprezziamo il suo impegno al successo della corsa e il suo interesse per tutti i membri del team.

In Cosenza we were welcomed by the Minister of Sport for the City, Mr. Pincitore, the Minister for Welfare Ms. Ferrari and the head of the City Cabinet Mr. Aprile. We were also grateful to have the Local President of CONI (Italian Olympic Committee) Mr. D'Aiello and the Local President of FIDAL (The Italian Federation of Athletics), Mr. Cairajoin, us at the ceremony. Along with the two TV stations and some print media it made a very special event. All of these people are contributing to the world in a positive way through their efforts in promoting sport. We all shared a common interest in bringing people from different cultures, religions and backgrounds together.

A Cosenza siamo stati accolti dal Ministro dello Sport della città, Sig. Pincitore, il Ministro della previdenza sociale Sigra. Ferrari e dal Capo del Gabinetto Sig. Aprile. Siamo stati anche onorati di avere il Presidente locale del CONI Sig. D'Aiello e il presidente locale della FIDAL, Sig. Cairajoin, presenti alla cerimonia. Insieme a due TV e qualche giornalista il tutto si è rivelato un evento speciale. Tutte queste persone stanno contribuendo al mondo in un modo positivo attraverso i loro sforzi per promuovere lo sport. Tutti noi condividiamo un interesse comune portando persone da differenti colture, religioni e livelli sociali.

We would like to especially mention of our friend, Abbate, from CONI, who organized this meeting and also permitted us to visit the Olympic & Sports Museum. They provided us with an excellent lunch bag.

Desideriamo menzionare in modo speciale il nostro amico Abbate, del CONI, che ha organizzato questo meeting e che ci ha permesso di visitare il museo Olimpico & dello Sport. Ci hanno fornito anche un eccellente pranzo al sacco.

Our new runner from Russia, Anatoli, was a great addition to the team. His running capacity and his Italian language skills were essential during the last few days.

l nostro nuovo runner dalla Russia, Anatoli, è stata una grande aggiunta al team. Le sue capacità di corridore e la sua conoscenza dell'italiano sono state essenziali negli ultimi giorni.

Our visit to the Corrado Alvaro Primary School in Cosenza was our last ceremony before taking a break for two weeks and it was perhaps the best. As we entered the school hall the children started singing a wonderful song in Italian for us.

La nostra visita alla scuola elementare Corraro Alvaro a Cosenza è stata la nostra ultima cerimania prima di prendere una pausa di due settimane e forse è stata la migliore. Appena siamo entrati nella hall della scuola i bambini ahanno iniziato a cantare una canzone in Italiano per noi.

They had also spent many hours making more than 14 large posters on the theme of Harmony and friendship. We were quite astounded by their knowledge of Geography when we asked them to guess which country we all came from. This school had really prepared for our arrival and we were very grateful for all their effort.

Hanno anche speso molto tempo a fare più di 14 poster sul tema dell'Armonia e e dell'amicizia. Siamo stati impressionati della loro conoscenza della geografia quando gli abbiamo chiesto di indovinare da quale città venissimo. Questa scuola si è veramente preparata per il nostro arrivo e siamo stati molto grati per il loro sforzo.

Every town we passed through was so picturesque. We were also surprised by the snow on the Apennines mountains all over Italy.

Anche il paese che abbiamo attraversato era così pittoresco. Siamo rimasti sorpresi della neve sugli Appennini in tutta Italia.
