We boarded a ferry bound for Sardinia early in the morning.

Il nostro primo appuntamento è stato a Santa Teresa Gallura; qui l'assessore Giovanna Occhioni ci da il benvenuto ...

... e anche dei bambini molto simpatici ...

...some very cute kids welcomed us...

... hanno condiviso la fiaccola.

...and shared the torch.

Qualcuno ero troppo piccolo per tenere la fiaccola ...

Not everyone could hold the torch, however...

L'Unesco ha dichiarato il 2011 anno internazionale delle foreste. Così Santa Teresa Gallura ha predisposto la piantumazione di un ulivo vicino alla scuola.

This is the year the UN General Assembly proclaimed (and UNESCO supports) as the  International Year of Forests (IYF), so the town of Santa Teresa Gallura organized a tree planting near the school...

... ed è stata apposta una targa simbolo di amicizia tra la Harmony Run e Santa Teresa Gallura...

...and a small plaque symbolizing the friendship between the Harmony Run and the town of Santa Teresa Gallura...

Da qui il gruppo ha cominciato a percorrere le strade sarde. I nostri podisti ha trovato fresche energie passando a una nuova nazione...

From here the team headed for the roads of Sardinia. Our runners had dynamic new energy from the change of countries...

... e trovato pure voglia di nuovi cibi.

..and hunger for new food as well.

Il gestore della pasticceria è sceso appositamente per aprire durante la "siesta".

The owner of this Pasticceria opened his shop for us while he was on his siesta; what a treat!

Case di vari colori lunga la strada.

Multi-coloured houses could be spotted along the way.

A Palau siamo stati ricevuti dagli assessori Aldo Pirina e Giovanni.

In Palau we met city representatives Aldo Pirina and Giovanni.

Hanno preso la fiaccola con grande spirito di amicizia e condivisione...

They received the torch in a great spirit of friendship and sharing...

... e anche offerto dei regali

...and also offered us some gifts.

Una breve corsa tutti insieme nella piazza del Comune...

We went on a quick run around the plaza...

...infine siamo arrivati ai nostri alloggi, i tipici tukul, su un magnifico promontorio in riva al mare.

...and finally settled into our accommodation in a beautiful spot right by the ocean.
