Many thanks to the town of Castelsardo, which hosted us at the Hotel Pedraladda in great comfort.

A circa 500 metri dal nostro albergo ci ha raggiunto un gruppo di bambini accompagnandoci fino alla scuola "Eleonora d'Arborea"

About 500m from our hotel we were joined by a group of kids, who showed us the way to our next school.

Con questi bambini ci siamo divertiti moltissimo !

...che si trova al castello, in cima alla collina. Alcuni bambini erano piccoli, ma tutti ce l'hanno fatta.

...which is by the castle, at the top of the hill. Some of the kids were less than 10 years old, but we all made it to the top.

Lo sforzo è stato ricompensato con un'incredibile vista sul porto e sulla città.

We were rewarded with an incredible view of the harbour and city.

Il castello rimane a testimoniare epoche passate.

The castle stands as a reminder of a different era.

We entered Sassari to the sound of children cheering at the tops of their lungs.

Correre attorno al campo è stata un'esperienza gioiosa.

We split the team - one went to the very small kids, the other to the elementary school.

Sassari City Hall was our next destination.

Siamo stati ricevuti nell'elegante sala consiliare...

Il Sindaco Gianfranco Ganau ha preso in consegna la torcia e fatto un discorso commovente.

Here Mayor Gianfranco Ganau received the torch and delivered a heartfelt speech.

Il Sindaco, l'assessore alla cultura Maria Lai, il presidente provinciale del Coni Gian Nicola Montalbano, il delegato provinciale Fidal Enrico Pinna e il coordinatore europeo della WHR.

The Mayor, the assessore of culture Maria Lai, the president of the local olympic committee and the director of athletics Enrico Pinna offered encouraging words and held the torch as well.

Il Comune ci ha offerto un buffet straordinario con ogni tipo di verdure, melanzane alla parmigiana e tanti altri piatti deliziosi.

The City provided us with an extraordinary buffet; complete with mediterannean vegetables, grilled spinach, eggplant parmesan, and many other wonderful dishes.

L'attrice Clara Fontana ha recitato una poesia in lingua sarda con grande profondità.

This woman is the actress Clara Fontana. She read us a poem in the Sardinian language that sounded quite majestic in her mother tongue.

Il direttore del Coni di Sassari, Gian Nicola Montalbaro, ci ha ricevuto nella sua sede esprimendo quanto apprezza ciò che facciamo per lo sport, connettendo in questo modo le persone senza fini agonistici. Gli siamo molto grati per le gentili parole e il suo proprio impegno per l'armonia.

The Director of the Olympic Committee of Sassari hosted us and told us he really valued what we are doing for sports, connecting with people through it, but not based on competition. We are extremely grateful for his kind words and his own work to bring harmony to his community.

La polizia ci ha fatto scortato e fatto correre in sicurezza lungo tutti i tratti urbani e fino ai confini della città. Grazie di tutto, Sassari !

The police brought us out of the city safe and sound, thanks for everything Sassari!

Dopo qualche altra ora di corsa abbiamo raggiunto di nuovo il mare ad Alghero, città che abbina l'architettura storica ad un bella costa.

The city of Alghero combines historic architecture and beautiful coastline.
