Italy 2 April: Firenze - San Marino

At 8:30, we arrived at the start of the Firenze Half - Marathon. We were invited by the organisers to present the World Harmony Run to the assembled crowds.

After some nice shots with the top runners, we let the main race take off and had a great run with the kids in the children's open race!

Then our running team left Firenze for the long (154 km) stretch to San Marino, which meant crossing the formidable Apennine mountains. The whole day was about running up and down, at times over an altitude difference of one thousand metres! We were fortunate that today was sunny and our running team was at full strength.

At Passo del Mandrioli (1173m) we finally left the most beautiful region of Tuscany just to reach another famous region - Emilia Romagna. It was late afternoon when we arrived at the gates of the world's oldest Republic: San Marino.

Our running day ended with a nice final climb with some old friends, up the rock on which this small country is built.

The evening meal turned out to be a real feast! Several delicious courses were very helpful for recharging our batteries! Never come on the World Harmony Run to lose weight!

Distance: 154km
