Yesterday’s long day was reflected in today's morning slow brain and leg activity. We started running from Nice along the coast and headed towards Monaco.

la lunga giornata di ieri si è riflessa sulle nostre stanche gambe e menti. Abbiamo iniziato a correre da Nizza lungo la costa in direzione Monaco.

We passed by the famous casino and a few sights from the Formula 1 car races. All the narrow twisting roads finally lead us to the Italian border. There we said goodbye to our French coordinators and to four team members, who all did their very best for us during our six days in France. In Italy we met a cheerful group of local runners and children from Ventimiglia who carried the torch to the mayor of the city.

Siamo passati vicino al casinò e abbiamo visto una gara di Formula 1. Le strette e tutte a curve vie della francia di hanno portato
verso il confine Italiano. Abbiamo salutato i nostri coordinatori francesi e tutti quelli che ci hanno supportato nei sei giorni in
Francia. In Italia abbiamo incontrato un allegro gruppo di runners locali e ragazzini di Ventimiglia, che hanno portato la torcia fino
dal Sindaco.

We were happy to have with us also members of the Italian Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team who helped us to carry the torch on a route whose high point measured 1279 m above sea level. At this snowy pass we met a group of fast runners from Cuneo who accompanied us to our final destination for the day.

Con noi anche i membri dello Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team Italia , che ci hanno aiutato a portare la torcia su una strada a 1279m di altitudine. Qui in mezzo alla neve abbiamo incontrato un gruppo di veloci runners di Cuneo che ci hanno accompagniato fino alla
nostra meta finale.

As we descended to the city of Cuneo we enjoyed a beautiful view of the mountains behind us.

Discendendo verso la città di Cuneo abbiamo potuto ammirare un bellissimo panorama delle montagne dietro di noi

We were accompanied by the local police and excellent local runners: Paola Ventrelli (winner of Ferrarra marathon-2:42) Rita Marchisio (winner of Marathon championship in Osaka in 1982)

Ci hanno accompagniato la polizia locale e un eccellente gruppo di runners comprendenti: Paola Ventrelli (vincitrice della maratona di Ferrara in 2:42) e Rita Marchisio (vincitrice della maratona di Osaka nel 1982)

The mayor of Cuneo welcomed us at the city hall with refreshments, at a reception which was also attended by a local TV station. We ended our day with an amazing PIZZA. It is truly great to be in Italy.

Il Sindaco di Cuneo ci ha dato il benvenuto in comune con un rinfresco e lì ci attendeva anche una TV locale. Abbiamo poi concluso la giornata con una fantastica PIZZA. E' veramente bello essere in Italia.
