Czech Republic 12 June: Praha - Rip mountain
Today's destination, Rip mountain, is known from legends to be the place where our Czech forefathers settled - that makes the route special among the Czech runners.
We started from a special place as well – the beautiful gardens of baroque Troja Chateau in Prague, a frequently visited gallery of 19th-century Czech paintings near the river Vltava.
We were delighted to welcome legendary athlete Ms. Dana Zatopkova, a long-time friend of World Harmony Run, who kindly agreed to start today's opening ceremony.
Ms. Karlikova from Troja Chateau enthusiastically wished runners good luck on the route.
And here we go, with 47km ahead of us.
There were no ceremonies planned along the route, but at the first town, Klecany, we ran into the annual Klecany Veteran Rally Show...
... so we took the opportunity to introduce ourselves and to pass the torch to all the people present at the show.
Yes!
Beautiful main square of Odolena Voda, soon to be filled with harmony runners.
Crossing the Vltava river, over a new footbridge.
Finally at the top – a group photo of all runners at the picturesque St. George Rotunda.
Looking at the same view our Czech forefathers would have had.
Distance: 54 km
