Our day started on Danube Island at a very unusual school: the BRG Bertha von Suttner!

The school is located on a boat floating on the Danube...

Wir starteten unseren Tag auf der Donauinsel uns besuchten eine sehr ungewöhnliche Schule: das BG und BRG Bertha von Suttner. Die Schule befindet sich auf einem Schiff...

...the kids gave us a warm welcome...

...die Kinder empfingen uns herzlich...

...and after a short presentation, a symbolic run - but not on the ship...

...und nach einer kurzen Präsentation ein symbolischer Lauf - allerdings an Land, nicht an Bord...

Our next stop was the lovely Montessori Kindergarten Theergasse, in Vienna.

Unser nächster Stop: der entzückende Montessori Kindergarten in der Theergasse, Wien.

The kids received us, lined up in front of the Kindergarten.

Die Kinder empfingen uns vor dem Kindergarten...

Harmony can be felt in the heart....

Harmonie kann man im Herzen fühlen...

...all the kids passed the torch...

...und die Fackel wurde von Hand zu Hand weitergereicht...

...the school decided very spontaneously to participate, but greatly proved its readiness!

...die Schule hat sich sehr spontan zum Mitmachen entschlossen. Um so herzlicher war das Meeting...

We reached the abbey in Klosterneuburg...

Our host, Clemens Gallball, blessed and received the WHR torch!

Unser Gastgeber Clemens Gallball empfing unser Team und segnete die Friedensfackel!

Local runners from Klosterneuburg joined us for a few km. It turned out that some of them had previously carried the torch, 20 years ago...

Lokale Läufer aus Klosterneuburg begleiteten uns für einige Kilometer. Es stellte sich heraus dass einige von ihnen die Fackel schon vor 20 Jahren trugen...

In St. Andrä the city representative welcomed us in the main square....

In St. Andrä empfing uns ein Gemeinderat im Auftrag des Bürgermeisters auf dem Hauptplatz...

We adapted to the heat and continued the meeting in the shade, with cool drinks...

Das Meeting wurde dem Wetter angepasst und im Schatten bei kühlen Getränken fortgesetzt.

The deputy mayor arrived and received the torch too!

Der Vizebürgermeister kam etwas später und empfing die Fackel!

...we enjoyed a beautiful run along the blue Danube. The river invited us for a quick cool swim - and some of our team members answered the call...

...wir genossen einen wunderschönen Lauf entlang der blauen Donau! Der Fluss ludt zu einem erfrischenden Bad ein - und einige unserer Läufer folgten bereitwilligst...

Near Tulln, sport representative Holzschuh welcomed us. He accepted the difficult task of taking care of the run despite the dog day afternoon heat!

Kurz vor Tulln empfing uns Sportrat Holzschuh. Er nahm die schwere Aufgabe auf sich, trotz Nachmittagshitze etwas auf die Beine zu stellen...

Good old runner friends...

Gute alte WHR Bekannte...

The final meeting took place - at the swimming pool in Tulln!

Das abschliessende Meeting fand zur Freude aller Beteiligter im Schwimmbad von Tulln statt!
