Since 2011 was proclaimed by the United Nations as Year of the Youth, we were very happy to be with a lot of children today as part of the City of Lake Mary Caribbean Festival. The manager of the Farmer’s Market, Christina Martin, was very kind to allow the World Harmony Run to have a table during the festivities.

Volunteers gathered by the gazeebo to start the day and get the games ready before children arrived.

They had all kinds of games for the kids to keep entertained.

Children were trying to toss caterpillars inside the rings, bowling with a real coconut trying to knock out pineapples and balancing the pineapples while they walked, among other games.

David tried his balancing skills as well.

Even our DJ friend Mike stopped by our table to hold the torch.

Children from Victory Martial Arts School and instructor Mr. Davis, gave a demonstration of their abilities and then stopped by our table to hold the torch.

When children were done playing the games, they stopped by the World Harmony Run table, where I gave parents information about the run and they had a chance to hold the Harmony Torch and make a wish for world harmony.

I would like to thank the City of Lake Mary, specially Melissa Flippin, Lake Mary Event coordinator and Director of the Senior Center in Lake Mary and also Christina Martin, manager of the Farmer’s Market for giving us the opportunity to participate during the Caribbean Festival.
