Iceland 9 June: Reykjavik
Our team had a great last day of running in Iceland, meeting lots of children, visiting the UN office and officially ending the World Harmony Run here with Katrín Júliúsdóttir, parliamentarian, joining us for the last few steps and wishing us good luck for our onward journey. A very nice picture of the scene appeared in the main Icelandic newspaper the next day.
The happy kids from Þróttheimar summer-sports daycare.
This is the Sportsclub Þróttur, a football school.
We liked these kids a lot :).
Giving out World Harmony Run stamps - a new idea from Czech Republic.
The sportsclub Víkingur, a football and health school.
We were very so lucky to have these enthusiastic and cheerful kids run with us.
A closer look at the stamps.
A few seconds of powerful concentration - these kids know how to make a wish for harmony.
This girl is nominated for the cutest smile of this year's World Harmony Run!
Friends in motion.
Having a great time together!
Looks terrific! We're glad they liked our stamps that much.
In front of one of the most important buildings in Reykjavik - the place where Presidents Gorbachev and Reagan met to end the cold war. The founder of the World Harmony Run, Sri Chinmoy, was also invited there last time he visited Iceland.
A visit to the United Nations Office here in Reykjavik.
We were extremely happy to have parliamentarian Katrín Júliúsdóttir run with us, to beautifully mark the end of the Harmony Run 2008 in Iceland.
Goodbye Iceland! We shall forever treasure your unparalleled hospitality, your kindness and your magnanimous heart of oneness. Sjáumst aftur!
