We had a fun packed and busy schedule ahead of us today as we had many schools to visit and ceremonies to attend. In order to cover the distance and spend as much invaluable time with the children as possible the runners were split into three groups. One group of Czech runners commenced from Drahany, and another group began from Zesov, whilst the International Team started from Blansko to attend a ceremony.

Dnes jsme měli před sebou velmi nabitý a zároveň veselý den – čekalo nás mnoho škol a ceremonií. Abychom dokázali urazit potřebnou vzdálenost a zároveň mohli strávit co nejvíce drahocenného času s dětmi, běžci se rozdělili do tří skupin. První skupina českých běžců vyrazila z Drahan, další skupina začala v Žešově, zatímco mezinárodní tým začal v Blansku ceremonií.

As we left out hotel in Rajec-Jestrebi, a village 7k from Blansko, there was a slight chill in the air with a low mist shrouding the lower valley. As we drove towards Blansko there was plenty of blue sky as the rising sun started to burn off the mist to indicate that this was going to be a fine and sunny day.

Když jsme opouštěli hotel v Rajci-Jestřebí, ve vesnici vzdálené 7km od Blanska, ve vzduchu byl cítit lehký mrazík a jemná mlha zahalovala celé údolí. Ale během naší jízdy do Blanska začalo vycházející slunce mlhu protrhávat, obloha byla stále více modrá, což oznamovalo, že bude pěkný slunečný den.

At Blansko we were treated to a variety of performances from the children. As we ran into the square in front of the school over 300 children waved and shouted "Ahoy!" (Czech for "Hello!"). The school choir was singing at the front as we made our way to the numerous microphones on the steps of the school to be greeted by the mayor and the school principal. The first performance was a floor gymnastics routine by 8 girls to some classical music, followed by a touching song entitled "Never Be Alone" sang by about 50 children. The finale was another floor gymnastics routine by 12 girls to rock'n' roll music.

V Blansku nám děti předvedli mnoho různých vystoupení. Když jsme přibíhali na náměstí před školu, více než 300 dětí na nás mávalo a volalo „Ahoj!“ Školní sbor v popředí zpíval, zatímco my jsme nastupovali před nesčetné mikrofony na schodech školy, abychom byli přivítáni starostou města a ředitelem školy. První z vystoupení bylo gymnastické v podání 8 dívek za doprovodu klasické hudby, následované dojemnou písní „Never be alone“ zazpívanou asi 50 dětmi. Poslední bylo opět gymnastické vystoupení 12 děvčat na rock’n roll hudbu.

All the children at the ceremony held the torch and then with boundless energy for so early in the morning the children ran with the torch. Aware of our packed agenda for today we left to a chorus of "Ahoy!" from the throng and made our way out of the town heading towards Prostejov 41k away to attend a ceremony.

Všechny děti na ceremonii si podrželi pochodeň a potom s nesmírnou energií na tak časné ráno s ní běžely. Odcházeli jsme za mohutného sborového „Ahoj!,“ které nás vyslalo ven z města směrem k Prostějovu vzdálenému 41km a kde nás později čekala další ceremonie.

On route to Prostejov we stopped at a school in Plumlov next to a small beautiful lake to run with 30 smiley children up the hill to look out over the lake. The sun was now very bright and hardly any wind. The lake was like a glass pane reflecting all the trees’ colours of shades of brown and green and the azure sky on the water’s surface. The children eagerly took our stickers and we waved them farewell.

Po cestě do Prostějova jsme se zastavili ve škole v Plumlově poblíž menšího krásného jezera, kde s námi popoběhlo 30 usměvavých dětí – společně jsme vyběhli kopec, abychom se mohli rozhlédnout po krajině kolem jezera. Bylo jasno, slunce svítilo, jen zřídka nějaký vítr. Jezero bylo jako skleněná tabule odrážející stromy a jejich hnědo-zelené stíny a azurovou oblohu. Děti si od nás velmi dychtivě vzaly naše samolepky a my jsme se s nimi rozloučili.

Along the road at a small village called Mostkovice much younger children smiled and cheered us on. They all looked like angels as we stopped and let them pass the torch ever so carefully to each other.

Dále nás na cestě ve vesnici Moštkovice pozdravily o mnoho mladší děti. Vypadaly jako andělé, když jsme u nich zastavili a dali jim podržet pochodeň.

The weather was now like a glorious summer’s day as we were escorted by a police car to the town hall of Prostejov.

Počasí bylo jako za nádherného letního dne, když nás policejní auto doprovázelo k radnici města Prostějov.

Two sets of camera crews filmed the runners as we ran to the town hall and the International Team introduced themselves to the crowd of children and onlookers.

Dvě skupiny kameramanů natáčely běžce, jak přibíhají na radnici. Mezinárodní tým se představil zástupu dětí a přihlížejících.

The reception was amazing and we were invited to the mayor’s office for some delicious pastries, and for the more healthy option, plenty of fruit. As the team signed the visitors’ book numerous photographers’ cameras flashed and some of the Czech runners were interviewed by the media. It was quite a hive of activity.

Přivítání bylo ohromné a byli jsme pozváni do kanceláře starosty na vynikající pečivo a jako zdravější alternativu spoustu ovoce. Když se členové týmu podepisovali do návštěvní knihy, mnoho kamer a fotoaparátů pracovalo a s některými českými běžci média natočila rozhovor. Bylo to jako ve včelím úle.

More activities and children were waiting for us up ahead as we ran in the sunshine to a school in Chropyne where over 300 children applauded us.

Další činnost a další děti na nás čekaly ve škole v Chropyni – v záři slunečních paprsků nás potleskem přivítalo 300 dětí .

One sweet young girl with such an infectious smile came up to us and shook our hands. The older children where more rather aloof but soon warmed to us as we greeted them with smiles and friendship and ran around the school playing field.

Jedna roztomilá holčička s velmi nakažlivým úsměvem k nám přišla a podala nám ruku. Starší děti měli nejdřív odstup, ale když jsme je vítali přátelským úsměvem, brzo „roztály“ a všichni společně s pochodní jsme běželi kolem školního hřiště.

As we sang our World Harmony Song one girl standing in the front must have known the words as she sang along with us. Again time was pressing and we quickly made our exit as the children excitedly wished us goodbye. Today we had so little time and so many hearts to touch.

Když jsme zpívali WHR píseň, jedna dívka v stojící v popředí musela znát slova, protože zpívala s námi. Čas nás opět tlačil, a tak se s námi děti se vzrušením rozloučily. Dnes jsme měli tak málo času a tolik srdcí, kterých jsme se měli dotknout.

In the brilliant sunshine we ran through Kromeriz with the police escort and we received such a warm welcome from car drivers and onlookers as they smiled and waved and cheered and encouraged us on. It was such a loving personal reaction when we smiled; the people spontaneously and instantly smiled back at you and waved.

V zářivém slunci jsme probíhali Kroměříží doprovázeni policejní eskortou a dostalo se nám velmi laskavého přivítání od řidičů aut a kolemjdoucích – usmívali se na nás a mávali a povzbuzovali.Byla to od nich spontánní reakce plná lásky a porozumění.

At Otrokovice we gave a programme in a large school to a class of 14 year olds. As we ran into the school gym the children gave us a raucous reception and eyed us with curiosity as we waited for our Czech country co-ordinator to show the European leg of the World Harmony Run promotional DVD. The teenagers watched the DVD in amazement and sometimes laughing and sometimes serious at the images of smiley and happy children carrying this torch that symbolises so much for what we run for. By the end of the DVD, when the Indian spiritual music was playing to images of runners running in breath taking sunsets and sunrises to the back drop of some spectacular landscapes of Europe, the children were unusually quiet and still as they watched in awe as the dawn of realisation had grasped them. We ran with the children around their school running track as each child wanted so much to run with their peers holding the torch.

V Otrokovicích jsme ve velké škole udělali program pro třídu 14letých školákůí. Když jsme přibíhali do školní tělocvičny, všichni nás doslova hřmotně přivítaly a zvědavě si nás prohlížely, zatímco jsme čekali na našeho českého koordinátora, který měl pustit DVD o evropské části WHR. Školáci se na DVD dívaly s úžasem, občas se smály a občas byly vážné, bylo tam spousta záběrů na smějící se a šťastné děti držící pochodeň, která symbolizuje mnohé z toho, proč tento běh běžíme. Ke konci promítání, když hrála indická duchovní hudba během záběrů na běžce běžící při nádherných západech a východech slunce některými opravdu krásnými částmi evropské krajiny, všichni neobvykle ztichli a bylo cítit jejich porozumění a respekt. Potom jsme společně běželi kolem jejich běžecké dráhy; všichni velmi dychtiví běžet s ostatními kamarády a držet pochodeň.

At the school we waited for our second group of runners as they were visiting a school down the road. A journalist took to our photographs as we eagerly awaited our fellow runners. Then on the crest of the hill, with torch flaming and flags fluttering, we joined them running down the hill to meet the mayor.

Ve škole jsme potom počkali na naší druhou skupinu běžců, kteří právě byli v jiné škole poblíž a už společně s planoucí pochodní a vlnícími se vlajkami jsme seběhli kopec, bychom navštívili pana starostu.

We had such an awesome reception and experiences at Otrokovice, but the afternoon was rapidly progressing to our final destination of Zlin. As we ran from the ceremony at Otrokovice, two boys aged about 16 years old, spontaneously decided to run with us out of the town. They were not exactly dressed for running, but they just kept on running. Not only did they run to the edge of town but were delighted to run with the flags and the torch and set a good pace at the front as they continued with us to Zlin 10k away. Along the suburban roads of Zlin so many school children waved us on, gave a rendition of the World Harmony Song, presented us with pictures and tied welcome ribbons on the torch. As we all ran into the bustling city centre of Zlin the two boys from Otrokovice were beaming and looked so proud to be running with us. Outside the town hall a crowd awaited us and one of the town councillors tied a white ribbon of welcome and friendship to each runner and invited us into the town hall for some much needed refreshments. We were also kindly presented with some gifts of tea and stationery.

Přijetí a zážitky v Otrokovicích byly ohromné, nicméně odpoledne kvapilo a my jsme museli pokročit směrem k našemu poslednímu cíli pro tento den, ke Zlínu. Když jsme vybíhali z ceremonie v Otrokovicích, dva asi 16letí chlapci se spontánně rozhodli doprovodit nás na kraj města. Nebyli oblečení přímo do sportovního, ale i tak s námi pokračovali. Nejen, že běželi na konec města, ale plní nadšení nesli vlajky a pochodeň a udržovali v čele skupiny celkem slušné tempo. Nakonec s námi doběhli až do Zlína, celkem asi 10km. Podél cesty na předměstí Zlína nás zdravilo spousta dětí, ukazovaly nám svoje obrázky a přivazovaly na pochodeň stuhy. Když jsme pak všichni vbíhali do centra Zlína, ti dva chlapci z Otrokovic doslova zářili a vypadali velmi hrdě, že s námi běží. Před radnicí nás očekával dav lidí a jeden z radních města uvázal na pochodeň bílou stuhu přátelství a pozval nás dovnitř na občerstvení. Zároveň jsme byli velmi štědře obdarováni čajem a psacími potřebami.

We were all quite weary and hot after such a long and packed day, but the day had been perfect in every way. The weather was so glorious you could have easily mistaken it for one of those days early in the summer. It was certainly a shorts, sun block and sun glasses day. We had met so many children, and the three running groups had visited in total 18 schools. Along our journey from Blansko to Zlin today the World Harmony Run had touched the hearts of nearly 1,500 children.

Byli jsme všichni docela unavení po tak dlouhém a nabitém dni, ale dnešní den byl dokonalý v každém ohledu. Počasí bylo nádherné, že byste ho klidně mohli zaměnit s letním dnem. Byl to rozhodně den krátkých kalhot, opalovacího krému a slunečních brýlí. Setkali jsme se s tolika dětmi a naše tři týmy navštívily celkem 18 škol. Na naší cestě z Blanska do Zlína se WHR dnes dotkl srdcí téměř 1500 dětí.

The warm glorious sunshine and experiences of today were most wonderful and the images of fun loving and happy children holding the torch wishing for a more harmonious future remained with us all that evening as we will carry their wishes and dreams onto our next country - Slovakia.

Hřejivé sluneční paprsky a zážitky dnešního dne byly opravdu krásné. Výjevy hravých a šťastných dětí držících pochodeň nesoucích příslib harmoničtější budoucnosti s námi zůstaly po celý zbytek večera a my jejich přání a sny poneseme do další země na naší cestě - na Slovensko.
