Australia, 28 & 29 May: Melbourne

Saturday May 28th.

We arrived on Victorian shores greeted by the organiser of the Tasmanian Harmony Run - a big thanks to Melinda for doing such a fantastic job. The people of Tasmania were so kind and welcoming and certainly embraced the World Harmony Run. Many of the Tasmanian Harmony Run Team are returning to their respective homes today, and a new team will join together for the Victorian leg of the run. Well done to Alf Zollo for a great job on photos and the daily log.

After eating a scrumptious meal at "The Rainbow-Silence-Heart" Cafe , Kel McMeikan took the harmony run torch to the MCG, our world famous sporting stadium where so many great teams have come together to excel, especially in cricket and Australian Rules Football. We are looking forward to visiting some more famous spots tomorrow.

Sunday May 29th

This morning the World Harmony Run team went running on the banks of the famous Yarra River. Smooth, glassy conditions provided the ideal medium for local rowers and water birds as they watched us run by. The mornings are some of the nicest times to run with the soft gentle light emphasising the glow of the flame from the World Harmony Torch.

Later in the day I managed to catch up with some of my relatives, my aunty and cousin Mary and Amy Munro took time out to join in the many thousands of people around the world who have held the World Harmony torch. Thanks guys, we look forward to seeing you again.

Later we went to the Victorian Arts Centre with the torch. An incredible artistic edifice in itself, the Arts Centre has often been involved in many events promoting world harmony.

As we posed for a photograph with the torch, a lady was inspired by the message of the World Harmony Run. Merlin has worked as a mediator and values the idea of world harmony even in the work place. Thanks Merlin for taking time out to hold the torch.

The World Harmony Run team would like to give a huge "THANK YOU" to S.A. PRINTED LABELS. In an extraordinary act of generosity they donated 30,000 stickers to The World Harmony Run. At each and every school we are able to give every child a sticker. The stickers are something that the kids really love to receive and it is amazing that we can provide a sticker to so many of the enthusiastic people we meet, as a valued momento of the Run. Thanks!

from all the members of the Team
