Japan 5 June: Chiryu - Toyohashi

When searching for harmony, one often looses his way and has to go back to some point and start again. Today's run revealed this aspect in full measure right from the beginning. We stayed at Okazaki Youth House but drove about 20 km back to Chiryu station to start there and run back to the Youth House.

Before the start from Chiryu station

There a group of girls from Shirayuri School waited for us at a lawn next to the House. At first they were a little shy but in the end they greeted us by a high-five with wide smiles.

Good-bye high-five

In the afternoon at Mikawa Mitani station sisters Kasturika and Bistarini from Tokyo joined us. Strengthened, we set off for the second half of the course. The wind was blowing powerfully, perhaps a typhoon was approaching, so the torch went off several times. Vikshanam from Mongolia got off the car and ran after the runners with a lighter to light the torch. However, he remained unnoticed and the cars left without him. Some time later we found out and decided to send a car to search for Vikshanam. He cannot speak Japanese but about one hour later he succeeded in calling us from a phone box in Laguna Sea Park where he enjoyed ice-cream. So we finally met (the runners have already arrived in Toyohashi at that time) and were happy that we are together again.
