Italy 10 September: Padova - Comacchio
Good morning Padova!
Our first meeting brought us to Tencarola at the San Bartolomeo church.
...Kids from the Summer camp welcomed us...
...a selfmade torch...
...and a short run...
..back in Padova we went to the Basilica di Sant' Antonio di Padova. The priest welcomed us and blessed the torch...
..afterwards we got a tour through the church...
...the tomb of Sant' Antonio di Padova...
...the relic shrine of the dome: beside other bodyparts the tong and the voice cords of Sant' Antonio di Padova are on display...
Next was the Orto Botanico: the deputy prefetto Mrs. Miola and the employees gave us a warm welcome.
The second-oldest tree in the garden (330 years old!) was dedicated as a Peace Tree!
...a symbolic run with all the employees...
...our good friend Silvio, Tesoriere of F.I.A.S.P. Padova...
We reached the famous Caffè Pedrocchi.
a special meeting took place to present the World Harmony Run and to give one torch bearer award...
...among the guest were the Assessor of Sport for Padova, the Director of the Peace Office in Padova, the President of C.O.N.I. Padova, the President of F.I.A.S.P Padova, the President of LIBERTAS Padova and the Director of Bici d' Epoca...
...Giuliano Calore received the award for his outstanding performances and Guinness records!
Casalserugo was excited about the arrival of the torch!
...runners from A.S.D. G.P. Casalserugo awaited us and joined in...
...the mayor and children joined in...
...we arrived on stage...
...and the mayor received officially the torch...
...the priest blessed the torch...
...and the kids gave us a great smile!
...we received nice gifts!
...and a great buffet! Bruschetta and fruits...
Thank you Casalserugo for the nice welcome!
...after a 85 km - run we reached Comacchio....
...quite a dynamic run into the city...
...a final group picture...
Thank you for the great day!
