St. Lucia, 16 June: Acting Prime Minister receives Torch

St. Lucia: The first time ever. Primary and secondary schools in St. Lucia eagerly await the start of The World Harmony Run got off to a start with an entire secondary school cheering on the runners.

The course began on the southern coast of the island and traveled up the east coast and then over the mountains to the capital.

With our without shoes, young St. Lucian athletes cover the distance.

And this young athlete ran at a cracking pace. (notice his arial!)

The police escort was invaluable!

At its fastest pace yet, the torch blazes along the Castries ocean view.

In all, over a thousand participated in WHR 2005 in St. Lucia.

The acting Prime Minister Mario Michel endorsed the importance of embracing the World Harmony Run torch.

Ministerial staff, runners, special guests give thanks for a great inaugural run in St. Lucia.

We flew back to Antigua late at night in order to catch a 6am flight to our last destination (St. Thomas). The Antigua Beachcomber was kind enough to host us for our transit evening.

We are now gearing up for our last island... for this trip....
