Canada 19 April: Getting ready!

We are so thrilled that gorgeous Tofino was the opening location our Canadian World Harmony Run!

Upon arriving, we were instantly taken with the unbelievable views of the ocean and surrounding mountains. It is one of the most beautiful places in the whole country!

That evening, we were warmly welcomed by Gord Johns at "Humanity" - a community gathering place in the heart of Tofino.

While ascending the stairs of Humanity one begins to feel they are entering a very special place, the walls are covered in art and poetry, there is an abundance of musical instruments, books and cozy couches. It is like being at home, only better! The place was full of friendly, smiling faces who quickly became friends.

Morgan, who owns Humanity, is an excellent cook and we were delighted to devour the vegetarian feast she prepared for us!

After eating, we enjoyed performances by local musicians. Krista entertained us with her guitar and lovely voice; I particularly enjoyed her rendition of "Rivers of Babylon". EarthShaker, a guitar duo from Victoria, played us some of their fun original songs and a couple of nice covers as well. Then we sang everyone our World Harmony Run song and had a few words about the philosophy of the run.

Following that, we watched the World Harmony Run Video and the film ‘Ocean Monk' which was appreciated by the locals as it is about surfing, an activity so integral to the Tofino lifestyle.

A nice time was had by all and the community of Tofino was so welcoming that we felt we were among family. Thank you to everyone who came.

We spent the night at the fantastic Tin Wis Best Western Lodge, which we really enjoyed as each room had a spectacular ocean view!  Thank you Tin Wis for your generous support offering complimentary rooms for the entire team, we are truly grateful!
