The first event of the day was at J.J O’Neill Catholic School, in Napanee Ontario, where 350 students greeted the torch. Two of them read aloud the aphorism on the back of the WHR t-shirt. We also taught the children our Harmony run song, which they all delighted in singing with us. The event then proceeded to the school field, where the students had a chance to hold the torch and make a wish for world harmony.

Le premier événement de la journée était à l'École "J.J. O'Neil Catholic School", à Napanee, Ontario, où 350 étudiants accueillaient le flambeau. Deux élèves ont lu l'aphorisme-thème de la CHM inscrit sur le T-shirt. Nous leur avons enseigné le chant-thème, qu'ils ont grandement apprécié. Le reste de l'événement s'est déroulé dans la cour d'école où chaque étudiant a pu tenir le flambeau et offrir un souhait pour l'Harmonie mondiale.

Our next event took us to Sydenham High School, in Sydenham where the track team (800m and 1500m runners) relayed the torch a seemingly effortless 11km run to Perth Road Public School. All the runners involved agreed that they could not just run 11km, but a quick look at the odometer in the WHR van confirmed the distance! A big thanks to the Sydenham track members for such a great run!

Notre prochaine cérémonie était à l'École "Sydenham High School" de Sydenham où le club athlétique de l'école ( les coureurs de 800 m. et 1500 m. ) se sont relayé le flambeau avec une grande aisance sur une distance de 11 km. jusqu'à l'École "Perth Road Public School". Tous les coureurs participants avaient difficulté à croire qu'ils avaient couru aussi aisément les 11 km., mais l'odomètre du véhicule de la CHM le confirmait. Le plus grand des mercis au participants, membres du club athlétique de l'École Sydenham pour leur course exceptionnelle.

At Perth Road Public School, in Perth Road, the students spontaneously ran around the school yard to greet us, and they were full of questions and enthusiasm. To close the ceremony each student held the torch making a wish for world harmony. Many came back to and three times to hold the torch! Special thanks to Kath Leverette, member of the teaching staff, for making our visit possible.

À l'École "Pearth Public School" de Pearth Road, les élèves ont spontanément commencé à courir dans la cour d'école en guise d'accueil. Ils avaient une profusion de questions et démontraient beaucoup d'enthousiasme. À la fin de la cérémonie, chaque élève tenait le flambeau et offrait des souhaits pour l'Harmonie mondiale. Plusieurs sont revenu jusqu'à trois fois pour tenir le flambeau! Merci à Kath Leverette, membre du corps enseignant, qui a rendu possible cette visite aux étudiants.
