Belarus 21 September: Mogilev - Vitebsk

We started the day quietly, from our hotel in Mogilev. While on the road, we got a call that the President would be visiting a village on our route; we hoped to present him with a World Harmony Run torch. However, the head of security decided that there was not enough time and it did not happen.

We had a nice ceremony in Orsha, where we met some war veterans and helped to initiate 6 new patriots.

We ended our day at a sports stadium on the Avenue of Olympic Champions. We were led there by a large group of very vocal runners.

Great runners from Mogilev.

The goats looked on with interest.

A runner in focus.

SKLOV

We need to dry the clothes somewhere!

We had a lot of explaining to do about our run, because we happened to run through the place where the President had just had a private meeting. There were a lot of security people all around.

ORSHA

Nice group of runners joined us...

Twins maybe?

There is something down there.

Watch out below....

Traditional welcome...

War veterans look on.

A proud soldier holds the torch.

Pioneers wait their turn.

Are we on the right page?

Nice music, thank you!

Did the musician leave his instrument and run with the torch?

The torch takes a ride.

Look good for the cameras.

VITEBSK

Quite large and noisy group of runners joined through Vitebsk.

What's going on here?

In the Avenue of Olympic Champions.

The children get a lesson in sports history.

Yes, harmony begins there.

Just spell my name correctly.

Hurrahhhhh.

One big puff at the end of the day.

– Chanakya
