Prabuddha Nicol

Prabuddha Nicol running at Uluru

"Running has always been such an important part of my life," says veteran runner Prabuddha.

Way back in 1979, well before some of this year's team members were even born, he started training for his first marathon and he has participated in the World Harmony Run since its inception in 1987.

Travelling to different parts of the world and taking part in these events has been one of his great joys. Some of his most memorable World Harmony Runs include the Philippines, Burma, Nepal and Malaysia.

Of course, he has taken part in all of the Runs held in Australia and is particularly looking forward to running this year from his home city Perth to the capital of the top end Darwin.

There is word from the west that Prabuddha is ready to take off solo if the team needs a rest after crossing the Nullarbor.

And watch out youngsters, he's still capable of cranking out a sub 3-hour marathon!

Prabuddha is also the State Co-ordinator for the WA section of the event and current World Harmony Torch Surfing Champion!
