USA 13 July: Colome, SD - Tyndall, SD
Thank you so much to Warrior Inn for a great nights accomodation!
Katya is a highly accomplished pianist, she likes to run to music...
Harita learned the piano but unfortunately never practised..
Ratuja never learned the piano, but she can play the saxaphone..
It is unknown whether Natabara knows how to play the piano..
It is highly improbable that Salil knows how to play the piano
Sukhajata is a very good guitarist and probably a good pianist too.
The day started out hot from the beginning..
On the way to Gregory, we were delighted to have some local runners join us four miles out!
As we went along more and more runners of all ages joined us!
The miles go by so much faster when you have new friends to run with!
Everyone took turns carrying the torch...
As we turned down the final stretch, there were still more locals waiting to join us!
The local police car even led us down the main street...
We finished in Gregory City Park where there were ice blocks, fruit and drinks waiting for the thirsty crowds...
Thank you so much to Tim Voight for organising everyone to come!!
Tim and Kurt are now honorary team members!
All these runners are from the local swim club..
A local Gregory group of runners...
A big team photo, thank you so much to the town of Gregory!
Running past the great Missouri..
We made it just in time to Wagner for a ceremony at the local swimming pool.
The lifeguards arranged a break in the swimming so the kids could hold the torch.
Thanks alot to Laurie De Freyne for organising the event!
Laurie and his team from the local hospital provided us with ice blocks, fresh fruit, gatorade, and protein bars, thank you so much!!
Our next stop was Corral Restaurant in Tyndall, where the local rotary club gave us a friendly welcome, and Bob and Judy, the owners of the restaurant, very kindly made dinner for us, we all became good friends!
Bob and his son, Mark, happen to breed camels in their spare time, when we heard about this we were right over to see for ourselves!
The camels are so friendly!
This camel liked the look of Rupasi..
We were even allowed to sit on the camel!
Natabara was a bit scared but he got on anyway, however right after this photo was taken all of a sudden the camel started to get very anxious and Natabara just managed to jump off!
Consequently Dave decided he was perfectly content to just pat the camel.
They also have deer,
miniature donkeys,
baby alpacas,
big alpacas, and lots more...you never know what will happen in a days running, we were so happy to make so many new friends, people and animals alike!
Bye bye!!
