On June 1st Hurley Elementary School in Chicago welcomed the World Harmony Run to their multi-cultural day.

The whole school came out to participate by singing songs, reading poems...

...and helping to plant a Sri Chinmoy Peace Tree dedicated to fostering harmony and unity in the neighborhood.

Principal Dolores Cupp and Hector Rico of Latinos of the Southwest organized the event.

Special guests included David Whitaker, Director of Chicago Area Projects, Alderman Marty Quinn and Dr. Nury Bauzan de Senes, Consul General of Uruguay.
