USA 11 August: Woodford, VT - Henniker, NH

Running through Vermont has been lush and stunningly beautiful. We ran the torch into Brattleboro Recreation Center to meet some wild looking children.

First we met these gentleman who were quite enthusiastic to our cause.

Then we were greeted by some wild and crazy hairstyles.

It was wacky hair Wednesday at the rec center and they all took it seriously!

It really made for a colorful and intersting ceremony.

Akankha, our Vermont Coordinator, was moved by the whole experience.

We had to be even more careful with torch with all the hair going in different directions.

But all went well and, as usual, the children loved it.

Thank you so much to Carol Lalotte, Director of Brattleboro's Rec Center, for having us.

The rest of the day was running...

...until we arrive at Windsor Mountain International, a wonderfully dynamic summer camp for children from around the world.

They offered us space to camp and dinner with the children. We have been coming here since 1997, but more about that tomorrow...
