USA 29 July: Galesburg, MI - Dexter, MI

Our day began with a visit to the Battle Creek Family YMCA.

It was a small crowd and the children were young and a little subdued by all these strangers coming in with fire.

Soon they recognized we were friendly and started to warm up to us.

They had created beautiful torches of their own.

They searched deep for the peace, harmony and joy that is inside all of our hearts.

Salil further put them at ease with his uncanny impression of a kangaroo.

Once we let them loose with their torches and ours, we were fast friends.

Even some of the adults at the gym took the time to hold the torch during their work-out.

Thank you so much to Mary Proulx for allowing us to visit the "Y" again this time around.

As always, we had a great time and really enjoyed getting to know the children.

Our second meeting today was at the Martin Luther King Community Center in Jackson.

The children gathered outside under a shady tree while we talked to them about harmony, peace and friendship.

They did a great job guessing our countries and clapped along when we sang them our World Harmony Run song.

Almost all of them joined in a harmonious run around the baseball field, and then everybody lined up ready to hold the torch, make a wish for peace and then pass it along to the next person.

Our thanks to director John Willis for inviting us along, and for keeping order!

Christen and her daughter Megan stopped twice to see us on the road today. Christen is in the army and she offered her thanks in a really hearfelt way for our run for world harmony. We were so happy to meet you both today.

We offer our gratitude to the Comfort Inn in Chelsea, MI for putting a roof over our heads and a bed under our tired bodies. Thank you for supporting us yet again!
