USA 6 August: Egypt, NY - Manlius

As we ran into Elbridge, NY we were pleasantly greeted by Daulot's sister, Mary Anne and several young runners.

They were running with us for five miles! Always an inspiration. Daulot's nephew - Wesley (long hair for Locks for Love on the right) - and his friends really enjoyed themselves and hope to run more next time.

The sunflowers along the way were beautiful!

Stopped us in our tracks.

Bansidhar carried the torch into both of our visits to the Boys and Girls Clubs in Syracuse.

Shyamala got us started. She's polishing her ceremony skills and trying to embrace public speaking. We were all very proud! She has been a fantastic team member.

The counselors are always so helpful and supportive. We really have a great time working with them.

Some of them were really enjoying themselves!

The children were adorable!

We ran about 4 miles to the other Boys and Girls Club location. These two young ladies spontaneously joined the runners for about 300 meters.

We were greeted by Mayor Matthew J. Driscoll. He had just a short time to visit, we were very grateful for his time.

Thank you so much Enza Procopio - director of Program Operations - for giving us this amazing opportunity.

We had such a great time with the children. It was so much fun getting to know them.

Then they got their chance to run!

From the Boys and Girls Clubs we carried the torch a little past the town and then headed north of town where we were greeted and offered a pot luck dinner by the Schmitt's and the fine ladies from the Young at Heart Club.

Mimi and Erich Schmitt are the parents of a good friend of ours from Seattle. They very kindly organized a dinner and housed the girl's team. We loved meeting them.

The Young at Heart ladies offered us very nice gifts baskets to meet all our travel needs.

The boys team was fortunate enough to spend the night at Mary Anne and Christopher's. It is so nice to spend time with family! Thank you so much.
