USA 26 April: Athens, GA to Atlanta, GA

Meet some of the band members from an Atlanta parade we were in today.

Prakhara Harter, our Georgia coordinator coordinating our participation in the parade.

Uddyogini and Helga enjoy watching the parade preparations.

Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin holds the torch with Congressman John Lewis - one of the select people alive today who marched with Reverend Martin Luther King.

One of the countless children participating in the parade.

A Brownie troop.

And off we go - apparently 50,000 people lined the parade route.

Rain improvistation.

Everyone was passing the torch as we walked along with our banners and maps.

Stickers were a sought after memento of the torch.

All ages were on hand to enjoy the parade.

This was the best parade we've ever been in - thank you Atlanta.

Some of the more eccentric parade participants.

A Peace and Harmony mosaic on the parade route.

Later in the evening Prakhara and Shyamala examine our route to get us out of this thriving metropolis.

We are very sorry to lose our US coordinator Atulya Lee Berube who is returning to San Diego to continue working on the run from there. Atulya took on enormous responsibilities while he was out here on the road, and he will be sorely missed.

A sumptuous dinner was provided by Devidyal and her crew at the Flying Biscuit - it was delicious.

The women's team all smiles after a fabulous meal. See you tomorrow for more adventures!

The team stayed at Country Inn and Suites and Comfort Inn. Thank you very much for your kind hospitality.
