Each day we prepare a detailed schedule to coordinate the running of 11 people and three vehicles over 90 miles including ceremonies and presentations, lunch and dinner preparation as well as precise directions so we stay on course. As we make our way around the nation we invariably find a commonality between all people, all cultures and all religions. This billboard resonated with Homagni as he clocked up the miles.

We are very glad to have Jitavrata rejoin the team after spending a few days with his family. His enthusiasm and unique take on the world keeps us smiling all day, plus his ability to crank out the miles is much appreciated.

We had a great time with the children of Greensboro Boys and Girls Club who encouraged us on our journey.

Atulya is carrying a large part of the responsibility out here on the road and he is one of the most experienced runners. He is going to be leaving us in Atlanta and we will be sorry to see him go.

This photo was taken at the last 20 yards of Salil's 7.5 mile leg - forcing him not to walk in the last few steps. Salil was unable to run any of the 2006 US Relay due to injury - so while he's a little out of shape he's extremely grateful to once again be able to run some miles.

Going through Carrboro, NC called in at Jamil Kadoura's Mediterranean Deli where we met owner Jamil and were very impressed with his life of self-giving. Jamil grew up desperately poor as a Palistinian in Jersualem and it was there his deep seated desire to help people was born. Recognized and appreciated throughout Wintson-Salem, Jamil only relunctanlty talks about his wide-ranging service to the community. A true self-giver, we were honored to have him hold the torch.

Our evening program included a visit to the Warthogs, a Class A affiliate with the Chicago Whitesox. Here are some of the team with the torch.

The Warthogs invited us to throw in the opening pitch to get the game started. Atulya Lee Berube did the honors while Wally, the Warthog mascot, held the banner with Homagni. Atulya was hoping to get signed by the Warthogs as their new pitcher but apparently the talent scout didn't see the pitch.

Nawab Indian Cuisine provided us with a deliciously subtle Sag Paneer Curry and succulent naan bread for dinner.

Assistant Manager of Moes Southwest Grill, Claudia Martinez generously provided us with so many burritos we decided to save them for lunch tomorrow.

Staying at a beautiful hotel, like the Sundance Plaza Hotel and Spa doesn't hurt either. We sincerely thank Charlene Mulligan the General Manager and Latrice Jefferson the Sales Manager for arranging for such luxurious accommadations.
