USA 20 April: Ashland, VA to South Hill VA

Salil Wilson, Director of the World Harmony Run carries the torch through the rainy weather of Virginia.

Today was all about the running. Finally we all got the chance get some longer miles in, with many of us cracking 10.

The wetter it got, the more joy Atulya got.

At the end of our day as we came into Sourh Hill, VA Roger Poythress, Youth Director of 1st Baptist Church greeted us with a smile from ear to ear.

His enthusiasm alone could have carried the torch for the 2.5 miles to the church.

Out of 12 volunteers, only our new linebacker friend Ben braved the rain as a representative of the youth group.

A group shot at the church.

We were served a great dinner of pasta, salad and garlic bread.

After dinner the conversations were going in all directions. There were many laughs and moments of inspiration as we learned about each other.

Roger accepts our Certificate of Appreciation.

Smiles from start to finish.

Hilliary had a pulled tendon, otherwise she swears she would have run with us. :-)

Homagni's first day was blessed with buckets of rain.

A very, very special thanks to Lynette Tanner and the Days Inn of South Hill, VA for putting the team up again. They have generously offered rooms to us since 1995!
