USA 18 April: Baltimore, MD to Washington, DC

The Oneness-Family School is one of our favorite schools on the entire US Run - they always provide us with lots of inspiration and the spirit they share helps get us around the country.

As part of the welcoming ceremony the Oneness_Family school presented two Torch-Bearer Awards in recognition of the recipients outstanding service to the community. First to receive the award was Mr Robert Eastham (above) for his outstanding service to the community through his business, non-profit organizations and volunteer work for the community.

Second recipient of the Torch-Bearer award was Ms. Ariane Kirtley pictured above is with her father Michael and her new born child - three generations. Ariane is an Alumni of the Oneness-Family school who has done tremdous work in Africa focussing on water projects. Congratulations to both award recipients.

As always the student body of the Oneness-Family School was fantastic and we have our hearts full as they send us on our way.

Our next stop was John Eaton Elementary where we were met with an enthusiastic welcome by all the students. After they met the team they ran with us around the school.

Suprabha Beckjord, one of our gracious Washington hosts celebrates the World Harmony Run with us as she prepares for a significant journey of her own. She plans on running a 3100 mile race this summer - this will be her 12 running of the event.

Later in the afternoon Chandini Bachman took us on a whirlwind tour through Washington's halls of power culminating in this shot outside the Capitol Building.

A special treat was meeting Jon Yoshimura, Communications Director for Senator Daniel K. Akaka (D-HI)

Thank you Washington, DC.
