Serbia 13 August: Border with Montenegro - Uzice

We started our day at the Montenegro / Serbian border.

Our first stop in Serbia is in the home-town of renowned Serbian basketball star, Vlade Divac. He has donated every one of his medals to the local museum, to inspire the young people of Prijepolje.

After a round of Serbian foot-tapping, a most soulful dancer offers her good wishes for the world to the torch.

This was a fun relay - every 500 metres, we were joined by seven more local athletes.

We were welcomed into a mosque to experience the peaceful atmosphere and brilliant colours. It was a true joy to be invited to climb the minaret. Traditionally, Muslims chant prayers from the minaret.

We are the world family still and again and again forever.

Self-portrait of two risk-takers, going the extra mile to catch the best shots.

Nova Varos was the next stop of the day and we were treated to a number of modern and traditional performances. Bumble bees, or flowers?

Dalibor doing his impression of an intense front-line photo-journalist.

Subtle beauty allowed to flow forth, worth the run to witness.

Dynamism is a natural state - keep the torches blazing, God-kids.

Traditional Serbian running shoes; just joking - a symbol of more folk-dancing, prepared especially for us, yippee!

You see how friendship is everywhere; nothing to fear here.

In Cajetina the local girls volleyball team ran with us.

Bet you she has good ideas and big dreams; now, where shall she see them flourish? Anywhere she wishes - wait and see.

Kitten-gratitude, human joy, oneness-love in a nation-less piece of countryside (yes, this brand new cat is a resident of a large expanse of land showing its beauty nameless, between the collective offerings known as Montenegro and Serbia).

Uzice city hall ceremony, just before sunset.

Our official divine duty done once more, how glorious. We live this bliss to perchance pass the torch to another set of welcoming hands. The exquisite part is that there is no shortage of these well-wishing hands anywhere. Trust us, we checked.
