Story: Anne's experience

I have been to quite a few runs in Norway, and have to say that the runs there are never as you expect them to be.

This time I had a chance to come one day early to also experience the national day of Norway.

It was quite a celebration: People dressed up in their traditional costumes, decorated themselves with ribbons in the colours of the Norwegian flag or wore student outfits.

Also since the weather was beautiful is seemed that just about everybody was out in the city, the streets were packed with people.

The actual World Harmony Run for me started with meeting 65 school children outside the City Hall of Oslo. The children were from an international school coming from all over the world. Myself being a teacher, I could only admire the teachers who n with no problems what so ever n got them into a nice formation to wait still for the runners to arrive. Such good kids!

So we had a nice run with them from the harbour to the actual ceremony at the Eternal Peace Flame, all the children staying peacefully behind the two teachers as advised.

After the ceremony of beautiful singing and inspiring talks, the runners continued to Asker.
It was supposed to be 21 kilometres, with plenty of time for it, and all our eager young runners running the whole way n me driving the van. But ended up being a bit longer, a continuous 3 hour runs, with me running 2/3 of the way with 3 of my team mates. It was great. Nice to be back on the roads of Norway. It is such a beautiful country in every possible way.
