Today is the first real running day of the Central European Harmony Run 2009. We meet early, at 7:15, at a major bus station in Budapest. We are getting in tune with the Harmony Run spirit and the familiar scene gives a deja vu feeling: loading the bus, backpacks, sleeping bags on the ground, food piles in the back and some sleepy but eager runners from all parts of Hungary and Europe getting ready for the great adventure.

A mai nap a 2009-es közép-európai Világharmónia futás első igazi futónapja. Korán 7:15-kor gyülekezünk egy budapesti buszpályaudvaron. Kezdünk ráhangolódni a Világharmónia futás hangulatára és az ismerős jelenet dejavu érzést kelt: pakolunk a buszra, hálózsákok a földön, kaja-hegyek hátul és eközben néhány álmos de lelkes futó Magyarország és Európa különböző tájairól a nagy kalandra készülődik.

Hurray!!! And soon we find ourselves at the first ceremony, which takes place in Budaörs, the town neighbouring the capital. Perfect weather, enthusiastic team, thousands of kids...

Hurrá!!! És nemsokára máris az első ünnepségen találjuk magunkat, amire Budaörsön került sor. Tökéletes idő, lelkes csapat és gyerkőcök ezrei...

Sometimes the children and teachers cannot physically join the runners, but when we run close by their schools they come out to cheer us, and they seem just as happy.

Előfordul, hogy a gyerekek és a tanárok nem tudnak ténylegesen csatlakozni a futókhoz, de amikor az iskolájuk közelében járunk, kijönnek, hogy biztassanak minket, és úgy tűnik, hogy ez is ugyanolyan boldoggá teszi őket.

Törökálint. This sweetie from the local kindergarten stole all our hearts while performing a (for her age) really complicated majorette choreography.

Törökbálint. Ez a tündéri kislány a helyi óvodából mindenkit elbűvölt, miközben egy korukhoz képest rendkívül bonyolult majorette koreográfiát adtak elő.

Diána Igaly, Olympic champion in skeet shooting and citizen of Törökálint, can Never Say No to any appeal which involves children and sport.

She shared her motto with us: "Endurance and Humility in all situations of life."

On the way to the next community our police escort not only held the torch, but also told us that upon hearing about this event he became interested and checked the details on the website.

A következő helység felé útközben a minket védő rendőr nem csupán vitte a fáklyát, hanem azt is elárulta, hogy hallva rendezvényünkről érdeklődését kielégítve tájékozódott a részletekről a weboldalon.

Children playing folk music on traditional Hungarian instruments (recorder, citera) welcomed the torch upon arrival in Diósd.

Diósdra érkezve a gyerekek hagyományos népi hangszereken (furulyán és citerán) előadott népdalokkal köszöntöttek minket.

After a short but heartfelt little reception the mayor, Géza Spéth (former junior 100m sprinter with an 11.2 second Personal Record) took the lead for a while.

Egy rövid de szívhezszóló fogadás után Spéth Géza polgármester (aki juniorként 100 méteren 11.2mp egyéni csúccsal rendelkezik) futott az élen egy darabig.

As if there was a never-ending chain of runners, we were immediately revived right after leaving Diósd, by the fresh youth from Érd bringing a new enthusiasm-blood-transfusion to the exhausted team.

Soha véget nem érő futóláncként Diósd határában már az érdi gyerekek vártak minket, s mintha lelkesedésből adtak volna vérátömlesztést a kimerült futóknak.

Local kids were waiting in the May sunshine at every corner, to join in the torch-rave.

A májusi napsütésben minden sarkon helyi srácok várták, hogy a fáklya-sodráshozhoz csatlakozzanak.

Sure, they enjoyed every minute of it!!!
És persze, minden percét élvezték!!!

After an almost 8-km chase behind the fast teenage runners from 7 different local schools, we arrived at the City Cultural Centre, where deputy-mayor János Segesdi gave a welcome speech, followed by graceful dance performances and a Karate show (see the Gallery for pictures).

Miután közel 8km-en át hajszoltuk a nagyon gyors tizenéves futókat, akik 7 helyi iskolából érkeztek, megérkeztünk a városi Művelődési Központhoz, ahol Segesdi János alpolgármester köszöntött minket, majd egy nagyon kecses táncprodukciót és egy karatebemuatót láthattunk. (lásd: Galéria)

In the small village of Sóskut, the mayor and school principal expressed their gratitude to us for putting Sóskut on our route and stopping there. And we were deeply impressed by the family atmosphere and the unique setting on the bridge. The children all learnt the Harmony Run song and - no doubt - they performed it more nicely than we did.

Sóskúton, amely egy kisebb falu, a polgármester és az iskolaigazgató háláját fejezte ki azért, hogy Sóskútat is útba ejtettük, és hogy megálltunk itt néhány percre. Számunkra a családias hangulat és hídon megtartott különleges ünnepség szintén felejhetetlen élményt jelentett. Minden gyerek megtanulta a Világharmónia futás indulóját, és kétség sem fér hozzá, hogy szebben énekelték, mint ahogy mi szoktuk.

Our last stop was at Biatorbágy, where a brass band provided some lively entertainment.

Az utolsó állomásunk Biatorbágy volt, ahol a rézfúvósok biztosították a jókedvet.

The children sang some folksongs which had extremely funny texts, and they also recited poems.

A gyerekek népdalokat énekeltek, amelyeknek nagyon mulatágos szövegük volt, és verseket is szavaltak.

The school director was happy with and supportive of our event, as was the educational and cultural representative of the Municipality, who also came out to greet us.

Az iskola igazgatója nagyon kedvesen támogatta rendezvényünket, csakúgy mint a helyi önkormányzat oktatási és művelődési képviselője, aki szintén eljött, hogy köszöntsön minket.

Today we started our journey as a group of strangers, host and international runners, but by evening and after 51.5 kilometers, lots of receptions, loads of kids and countless smiles we became a bit suntanned (or burnt) and a real HARMONY TEAM.

Ma egy csapat idegenként, hazai és nemzetközi résztvevőkként kezdtük meg utunkat, de estére 51.5 kilométerrel, sok fogadással, rengeteg gyerekkel és megszámlálhatatlan mosollyal később nemcsak lebarnultunk (vagy inkább leégtünk) az erős naptól, hanem egy igazi HARMÓNIA CSAPATTÁ is váltunk.
