USA 13 August: Providence, RI - New Haven, CT

The day in Rhode Island began with a spectacular sunrise.

We were so happy to start our days running at the statue of World Harmony Run founder, Sri Chinmoy, in Providence, Rhode Island.

Ooops... Varalika unexpectedly found herself over her head in a field of sunflowers, she was lucky to escape unscathed...

Phew, Varalika is back on the road like nothing went wrong..

..while Harita is totally oblivious to the fact that we nearly lost a team member!!

Local coordinator Bill Champagne came out to meet the team on the road.

Tim Smith of the Mohegan Striders Running Club is a long time supporter of the World Harmony Run. He came out to join us five miles out of Norwich with fellow team member Kris-Anne Kane. They both have prestigious running backgrounds and we were honored to have them carry the torch.

We all met at the Norwich Assembley of God Church to run into our first ceremony of the day. Bill and his grandson Henry joined us along with another good old running friend Paul Androciewicz (in the yellow t-shirt).

Henry is a promising young runner, the pace sped up considerably once he took the lead!

We arrived at the Montessori Discovery School, our biannual visit was as sweet as ever. The children amazed with their knowledge of the countries of the world.

Have you ever seen Ashirvad run so fast?

A wish for peace.

Patrice Champagne receives our Certificate of Appreciation. Thank you so much for hosting us again, we look forward to seeing you in two years!

We finished the day in the beautiful city of New Haven.

Some of us were lucky enough to go for a swim thanks to the kindness of these locals.

Those who did not get to swim consoled themselves with Libby's Italian Pastries... it is a hard life on the road.
