USA 12 August: Cambridge, MA - Providence, RI

The girls team is joined by local runner Stephanie who carries the torch for many miles...

in the beginning of our tour of Rhode Island monuments dedicated to peace. She became the newest member of the team for the day. We were so excited to have her.

The first stop is the Cumberland Sri Chinmoy Peace Bridge in Cumberland.

Then we made our way to...

the Pawtucket Sri Chinmoy Peace Bridge. The runners are greeted by multiple City of Pawtucket representatives including Mayor Donald R. Grebien, Councilman Jean-Philippe Barrows, Councilor at Large Albert Vitali and others. It was especially welcome since it was a Sunday afternoon.

We were pleased to present Councilman Barrows with a Certificate of Appreciation signed by all of the runners. Mayor Grebien and Councilor Vitali also were presented with Certificates.

Eveyone gathered for a final photo before the runners start again on their way to Providence City Hall, then on to the next event.

We bid farewell to our police escort and made our way to the Domincan Music Festival in Cranston at Roger Williams Park.

The runners were introduced to an enthusiastic crowd of music lovers from the Domincan Republic.

It was a beautiful day in Cranston, RI. Everyone was enjoying the experience of music, sun and festivity.

After the festival, we made our way back to the final monument to peace here in Rhode Island, the bronze statue of World Harmony Run founder, Sri Chinmoy, pictured here with our Guatemalan teammate Jose.

Thank you to Khipra and all of our Rhode Island teammates for your excellent efforts. We had an inspiring and amazing time in Rhode Island.

Thank you to our founder, Sri Chinmoy for making this run possible. With much gratitude.
